Life is made up of lights and shadows and wherever there is a light there is often a shadow as well. The sun is the natural source of all shadows and when it is sunny the best way to spend a day is outdoors. I live in an apartment in a small town in the south of Italy, my wife has a small chocolate and gift store and I don't have a steady job and I work at several jobs at the same time and for this reason during the week I have very little time to devote to my family and especially to my little Chiara who is 7 years old. On Sundays I try to make up for lost time and I forbid myself to work and above all I forbid myself to think about work and I dedicate all my time to my daughter and my affections. When the sun shines, covid restrictions permitting, I like to go to the small town where my mother was born and where my parents have a house that has not been habitable for some time because it needs to be renovated. This small house is surrounded by greenery and has a courtyard where it is pleasant to eat outside.
For the contest organized by @ocd for the Shadow Hunters community I wanted to share some photos I took during a beautiful Sunday spent with my family in this small house a few months ago.
My daughter loves swings and my dad built her a swing using an old plastic chair. The swing was mounted under a small pergola that creates a nice shade that protects from the heat of the sun's rays.
Nerina is the mother of two other smaller cats.
Time is the most precious asset
Time is the most precious asset we have, and it's when you have little time to spend with the people you love that you realize even more how important it is. A swing, a meow of a purring cat, a deflated old ball, a warm ray of sunshine and a nice, refreshing shade are all simple ingredients of a happy day spent with family. The hectic life of today's days often distracts us and makes us forget that true happiness is found in the small and simple things and that the smile of a daughter, a child, a grandparent are more precious than any last generation smartphone or a beautiful sports car...

Una bella domenica in famiglia tra sole e ombre
La vita è fatta di luci e ombre e ovunque c'è una luce c'è spesso anche un ombra. Il sole è la fonte naturale di ogni ombra e quando c'è il sole il modo migliore di trascorrere una giornata è all'aperto. Io vivo in un appartamento in una piccola città del sud dell'Italia, mia moglie ha un piccolo negozio di cioccolate e articoli da regalo e io non ho un lavoro fisso e svolgo più lavori contemporaneamente e per questo motivo durante la settimana ho davvero poco tempo da dedicare alla mia famiglia e soprattutto alla mia piccola Chiara che ha 7 anni. La domenica cerco di recuperare il tempo perduto e mi auto-vieto di lavorare e soprattutto mi auto-vieto di pensare al lavoro e dedico tutto il mio tempo a mia figlia e ai i miei affetti. Quando c'è il sole, restrizioni covid permettendo, mi piace andare nel piccolo paese dove è nata mia madre e dove i miei genitori hanno una casa che non è da tempo abitabile perchè è da ristrutturare. Questa piccola casa è circondata dal verde ed ha un cortile nel quale è piacevole mangiare all'aperto.
Per il contest organizzato da @ocd per la comunità Shadow Hunters volevo condividere alcune foto che ho scattato durante una bella domenica trascorsa con la mia famiglia proprio in questa piccola casa qualche mese fa.
Mia figlia adora le altalene e mio padre le ha costruito un'altalena utilizzando una vecchia sedia di plastica. L'altalena è stata montata sotto un piccolo pergolato che crea una bella ombra che protegge dal caldo dei raggi del sole.
L'altalena non è l'unico motivo per cui a mia figlia piace andare in questa casa. Ci sono tanti dolci e simpatici vicini che come notano che la casa disabitata è diventata abitata ci vengono a trovare :) Ecco il primo vicino, non sappiamo il suo nome ma mia figlia l'ha chiamata Nerina.
E' una gatta molto furba perchè come ti distrai un attimo te la ritrovi in casa che mangia qualcosa dalla tavola.
Nerina è la madre di altri due gatti più piccoli.
Nelle foto seguenti c'è una bella farfalla che si gode il caldo del sole.
Quando arriva l'ora di pranzo l'ombra se non c'è va in qualche modo creata e un telo legato a due funi è proprio quello che serve per poter mangiare all'aperto.
Indovinate chi è il primo ad arrivare a tavola? Ovviamente Nerina! :)
Dopo pranzo tra un giro sull'altalena, una risata e due tiri ad un vecchio pallone il tempo scorre veloce e piacevole.
