My daughter Chiara is almost 8 years old and has always wanted to have a pet to take care of and play with. When she would ask my wife and I if we could get her a cat or dog the answer we gave her was always the same:
Chiara we have too many work commitments to get a cat or a dog but if we find an abandoned kitten or doggie we will take it!.
When Chiara saw a dog or a cat on the street she always asked me:
Daddy, is that an abandoned dog? Daddy, is that an abandoned cat?
Obviously I answered no and explained that those were adult dogs and cats that would not have lived with pleasure inside an apartment because they were used to living free and outdoors.
As time went by my wife and I decided to get a pet but we were still undecided whether to get a dog (more affectionate but more challenging) or a cat (less affectionate but less challenging).
Then Cuki arrived, a kitten of just 440 grams that we didn't choose or buy but, instead, it was fate that brought him to us!
On the morning of September 4, we found Cuki inside the trunk of my sister's car. He was cold, scared, underfed and full of fleas. The following photo shows Cuki in my wife's arms the day we found him.
The same day we took Cuki to the vet who examined him and applied the pesticide (Stongold plus). When we found him Cuki had lots of fleas that were bothering him and making him scratch all the time. To keep the fleas from infesting the house, we built a small cardboard house with a bathroom, playroom/bedroom and kitchen.
After two days Cuki wasn't scratching anymore and there was no trace of fleas so we finally let him free to roam around the house.
In the following picture there is Cuki resting on the bed, where I don't want him to go, but even if I let him down after a while I find him there.
With my daughter Cuki has established a great relationship. The following photo shows Cuki holding my daughter as she nibbles on her hands.
Cuki enjoys playing with Chiara but she also enjoys playing with my daughter's toys :) The following two photos show Cuki exploring Barbie's house.
Like all cats she loves to cuddle especially when he wants to sleep. The following photo shows Cuki sleeping while being cuddled by my daughter.
When I'm at the computer Cuki climbs up on my lap and starts scouring my desk. He positions himself behind the monitor and occasionally ambushes my hand while I'm using the mouse. The first few times I thought he might scratch my hand but then I found out that he just wants to play and in fact when he grabs my hand he has his claws withdrawn and doesn't hurt me.
I really like blockchain based games and I found out that Cuki likes Splinterlands too, or more precisely he likes to try to catch Splinterlands cards during a battle :)
Cuki is still a puppy and when he's not sleeping he always wants to play. For example he has a real passion for my gamer chair that now has the back full of scratches. The holes on the top of my chair attract him in an incredible way.
Cuki's fun is climbing up the chair to see what's behind the holes in the chair.
My chair is also one of his favorite places to sleep. He sits on the lumbar pillow between my back and the back of the chair and takes long naps while I work in front of the computer.
Today marks 35 days since Cuki became a member of my family. I have never had a cat in the house but I am very happy with Cuki's arrival because it has brought so many beneficial effects. My daughter, who is an only child, has a kitten to care for and cuddle and she also has company when we parents are busy with work. Thanks to Cuki my daughter spends less time in front of the tablet and in front of the TV and this is a great beneficial effect. When I'm working on the computer late I have a cuddly "fur ball" to keep me company.
Cuki has brought a note of joy and additional playfulness to my family, but most importantly Cuki has become a part of my family and when a family grows in number it is always a reason for joy.
Un mese con Cuki tra giochi, risate e qualche graffio...
Mia figlia Chiara ha quasi 8 anni e ha sempre desiderato avere un animale domestico da accudire e con cui giocare. Quando chiedeva a me e mia moglie se potevamo prenderle un gatto o un cane la risposta che le davamo era sempre la stessa:
Chiara abbiamo troppi impegni di lavoro per prendere un gatto o un cane ma se dovessimo trovare un gattino o un cagnolino abbandonato lo prendiamo!
Quando Chiara vedeva per strada un cane o un gatto mi chiedeva sempre:
Papà ma per caso quello è un cane abbandonato? Papà ma per caso quello è un gatto abbandonato?
Ovviamente io le rispondevo di no e le spiegavo che quelli erano cani e gatti adulti che non avrebbero vissuto con piacere dentro un appartamento perchè abituati a vivere liberi e all'aperto.
Con il passare del tempo io e mia moglie avevamo deciso di prendere un animale domestico ma eravamo ancora indecisi se prendere un cane (più affettuoso ma più impegnativo) o un gatto (meno affettuoso ma meno impegnativo).
Poi è arrivato Cuki, un gattino di appena 440 grammi che non abbiamo scelto o comprato ma che, invece, è stato il destino a portarlo da noi!
La mattina del 4 settembre abbiamo trovato Cuki all'interno del cofano della macchina di mia sorella. Era infreddolito, impaurito, poco nutrito e pieno di pulci. Nella foto seguente c'è Cuki in braccio a mia moglie il giorno in cui lo abbiamo trovato.
Il giorno stesso abbiamo portato Cuki dal veterinario che lo ha visitato e gli ha applicato l'antiparassitario (Stongold plus). Quando lo abbiamo trovato Cuki aveva tante pulci che lo infastidivano e lo facevano grattare in continuazione. Per evitare che le pulci infestassero casa abbiamo costruito una piccola casetta di cartone con bagno, sala da gioco/notte e cucina.
Dopo due giorni Cuki non si grattava più e delle pulci non c'era più traccia così lo abbiamo lasciato finalmente libero di girare per casa.
Nella foto seguente c'è Cuki che si riposa sul letto, dove però non vorrei che andasse, ma anche se lo faccio scendere dopo un pò lo ritrovo li.
Con mia figlia Cuki ha instaurato un bel rapporto. Nella foto seguente c'è Cuki in braccio a mia figlia mentre le mordicchia le mani.
Cuki si diverte a giocare con Chiara ma si diverte anche a giocare con i giocattoli di mia figlia :) Nelle due foto seguenti c'è Cuki che esplora la casa di Barbie.
Come tutti i gatti ama le coccole soprattutto quando vuole dormire. Nella foto seguente c'è Cuki che dorme mentre viene coccolato da mia figlia.
Quando sono al computer Cuki si arrampica sulle mie gambe e inizia a perlustrare la mia scrivania. Si posiziona dietro il monitor e ogni tanto fa dei veri e propri agguati alla mia mano mentre uso il mouse. Le prime volte pensavo mi potesse graffiare la mano e invece poi ho scoperto che la sua è solo voglia di giocare e infatti quando mi acchiappa la mano ha gli artigli ritirati e non mi fa male.
Mi piacciono molto i giochi basati su blockchain e ho scoperto che anche a Cuki piace Splinterlands o più precisamente gli piace provare ad acchiappare le carte di Splinterlands durante una battaglia :)
Cuki è ancora un cucciolo e quando non dorme vuole sempre giocare. Ad esempio ha una vera e propria passione per la mia sedia da gamer che ha ormai lo schienale pieno di graffi. I fori posizionati in alto sulla mia sedia lo attirano in una maniera incredibile.
Il divertimento di Cuki è arrampicarsi sulla sedia per vedere cosa c'è dietro i fori della sedia.
La mia sedia è anche uno dei suoi posti preferiti per dormire. Si posiziona sul cuscino lombare, tra la mia schiena e lo schienale della sedia e si fa lunghe dormite mentre io lavoro davanti al computer.
Oggi sono passati 35 giorni dal momento in cui Cuki è diventato un componente della mia famiglia. Non avevo mai avuto un gatto in casa ma sono molto contento dell'arrivo di Cuki perchè ha portato tanti effetti benefici. Mia figlia che è figlia unica ha un gattino da accudire e coccolare e ha anche una compagnia quando noi genitori siamo impegnati per lavoro. Grazie a Cuki mia figlia passa meno tempo davanti al tablet e davanti al televisore e questo è un grandissimo effetto benefico. Quando lavoro al computer fino a tardi ho una tenera "palla di pelo" che mi tiene compagnia.
Cuki ha portato una nota di allegria e di ulteriore gioco all'interno della mia famiglia ma soprattutto Cuki è diventato un componente della mia famiglia e quando una famiglia aumenta di numero è sempre un motivo di gioia.
