Three years ago I discovered Splinterlands and since that time blockchain-based games have become one of my passions.

I have a particular and natural preference for games built and developed on the Hive blockchain because Hive is my favorite blockchain project and I am very happy that the number of Hive-based game projects is continuously increasing.

The games built and developed on the Hive blockchain that are currently playable and in which I am an active player are:

• Rising Star, Dcrops, Dcity and Hashkings are Farming Games
• Ape Mining Club is a mining-game.

Ape Mining Club is the only mining simulation game currently playable on Hive's blockchain, and this game is the central topic of this post.

What is Ape Mining Club?

Ape Mining Club is a Mining simulation game that is simple to play and requires little learning time. The purpose of the game is to earn (by virtually mining) APE tokens through the purchase and virtual use of mining equipment: CPU, CLOUD, GPU, ASIC, QUANTUM. All virtual mining equipment can be purchased only using APE tokens as a method of payment, and therefore a minimum amount of APE tokens must be purchased to start investing on Ape Mining Club.

APE tokens are second-level tokens of the Hive blockchain and are purchasable from one of Dex of Hive's second-level tokens such as:

My usual investment strategy in Farming/Mining games

I consider farming games and particularly mining games more investment than games because there is very little time to execute game actions. In Farming and Mining games it is always very important to do calculations and evaluations before buying game assets (NFTs and tokens) and it is on these aspects that the most time should be spent.

In farming and mining games I follow a basic strategy divided into three phases:

• Phase 1:
  • 1.1 I evaluate the project (I calculate the estimated ROI and calculate the estimated time to break even)
  • 1.2 if my evaluation is positive and I see potential I invest.
• Phase 2: I sell game rewards with the goal of reaching the break-even point
• Phase 3: when I reach the break-even point I have turned the investment into a 0-risk investment and can continue to manage the investment without any particular concerns.

My basic strategy can, of course, change and is subject to periodic reevaluation but in general it is a strategy that I follow quite rigidly and this is the strategy that I have followed and applied on Ape Mining Club.

Summary of my investment to date

I started investing on Ape Mining Club on November 12, 2021 when I spent 44.20 SWAP.HIVE to purchase 85 APE tokens which I used to purchase 1 Cloud, 1 GPU and 1 ASIC. Later I decided to invest more and purchased more virtual components and spent a total of 98.09 SWAP.HIVE to purchase a total of 435 APE tokens. In the table below you can see the amount of APE tokens I purchased and the total cost in SWAP.HIVE I incurred.

The day I purchased the first virtual mining components I also delegated 103 HP to the @apeminingclub account to receive a daily amount of APE tokens.

When I invest in a game and I see that there is an option to delegate HP to get game tokens I always try to make a delegation because the amount of tokens I receive and especially the increase or decrease of what I receive as time goes by is a useful indicator that shows and quantifies the players' interest in investing ;)

After I invested 98.09 SWAP.HIVE I started to use in-game rewards to buy new virtual mining components and then in a progressive way I started to sell the APE tokens I was receiving as rewards to reach the break-even point.

To date, I have purchased 435 APE tokens but used a total of 762 APE to obtain:

• 2 CPU
• 21 CLOUD
• 4 GPU
• 1 ASIC
• 4 QUANTUM

In the table below you can see the amount of APE tokens I have sold to date and the gain in SWAP.HIVE tokens I have received.

• APE sold: 1667.55
• SWAP.HIVE earned: 98.13

Breakeven Point Reached!

Just today I sold an amount of APE tokens that allowed me to reach the breakeven point.

As in the Dcity game so many months ago, today I reached phase 3 of my investment strategy on Ape Mining Club as well. I reached the break-even point and turned Ape Mining Club from a play to earn game to a free to play game!

My Next Investment Strategy

The amount of virtual mining components I own allows me to receive an amount of APE tokens every day, and the last payment I received was 2,303 APE = 0.0305 SWAP.HIVE (Highest Bid).

The last reward I received for the 103 HP delegation was instead 2,757 APE.

What will I do with the rewards I receive?

Now that I have turned Ape Mining Club into a free-to-play game I can continue to invest in complete carefree play and will proceed as follows:

• I will invest 50% of the monthly rewards in purchasing Quantum components to gradually increase the APE token production of my mining machine.
• I will use 50% of the monthly rewards to do Power Up on Hive.

Tre anni fa ho scoperto Splinterlands e da quel momento i giochi basati su blockchain sono diventati la mia passione.

Cos'è Ape Mining Club?

La mia usuale strategia di investimento nei giochi di Farming/Mining

Considero i giochi di farming e in particolare i giochi di mining più investimenti che giochi perchè il tempo per eseguire le azioni di gioco è davvero poco. Nei giochi di Farming e di Mining è sempre molto importante fare calcoli e valutazioni prima di acquistre gli assets del gioco (NFTs e tokens) ed è su questi aspetti che dovrebbe essere impiegato il maggior quantitativo di tempo.

Nei giochi di farming e di mining seguo una strategia di base ben precisa:

• Fase 1:
  • 1.1 valuto il progetto (calcolo il ROI stimato e calcolo il tempo stimato per raggiungere il punto di pareggio)
  • 1.2 se la mia valutazione è positiva e vedo del potenziale investo.
• Fase 2: vendo le ricompense di gioco con l'obiettivo di raggiungere il punto di pareggio
• Fase 3: quando raggiungo il punto di pareggio ho trasformato l'investimento in un investimento a rishio 0 e posso continuare a gestire l'investimento senza particolari preoccupazioni.

La mia strategia di base può ovviamente subire delle modifiche ed è soggetta a periodiche rivalutazioni ma in generale è una strategia a cui mi attengo in modo abbastanza rigido ed è questa la strategia che ho seguito e applicato su Ape Mining Club.

La storia del mio investimento

Ho iniziato ad investire su Ape Mining Club il 12 novembre 2021 quando ho speso 44.20 SWAP.HIVE per acquistare 85 token APE che ho utilizzato per acquistare 1 Cloud, 1 GPU e 1 ASIC. Successivamente ho deciso di acquistare altre componenti virtuali di mining e ho acquistato in totale 435 token APE. Nella tabella seguente puoi vedere il quantitativo di token APE che ho acquistato e il costo totale in SWAP.HIVE che ho sostenuto: 98.09 SWAP.HIVE.

Il giorno che ho acquistato i primi componenti virtuali di mining ho anche delegato 103 HP all'account @apeminingclub per ricevere un quantitativo di token APE giornaliero.

Quando investo in un gioco e vedo che c'è la possibilità di delegare HP per ottenere i token di gioco cerco di effettuare sempre una delega perchè il quantitativo di token che ricevo e soprattuto l'aumento o la diminuzione di quello che ricevo con il passare del tempo è un indicatore utile che mostra e quantifica l'interesse dei giocatori ad investire ;)

Dopo che ho investito 98.09 SWAP.HIVE ho iniziato ad utilizzare le ricompense di gioco per acquistare nuovi componenti virtuali di mining e poi in modo progressivo ho iniziato a vendere i token APE che ricevevo come ricompensa per raggiungere il punto di pareggio.

Fino ad oggi ho acquistato 435 token APE ma ho utilizzato un totale di 762 APE per ottenere:

• 2 CPU
• 21 CLOUD
• 4 GPU
• 1 ASIC
• 4 QUANTUM

Nella tabella seguente puoi vedere il quantitativo di token APE che ho venduto fino ad oggi e il guadagno in token SWAP.HIVE che ho ricevuto.

• APE venduti: 1667.55
• SWAP.HIVE guadagnati: 98.13

Punto di Pareggio Raggiunto!

Proprio oggi ho venduto un quantitativo di token APE che mi ha permesso di raggiungere il punto di pareggio.

Come nel gioco di Dcity tanti mesi fa, oggi ho raggiunto la fase 3 della mia strategia di investimento anche su Ape Mining Club. Ho raggiunto il punto di pareggio e ho trasformato Ape Mining Club da un gioco play to earn ad un gioco free to play!

La mia prossima strategia di investimento

Il quantitativo di componenti di mining virtuali che possiedo mi permette di ricevere un quantitativo di token APE ogni giorno e l'ultimo pagamento che ho ricevuto è stato di 2.303 APE = 0.0305 SWAP.HIVE (Highest Bid).

L'ultima ricompensa che ho ricevuto per la delega di 103 HP è stata invece di 2.757 APE.

Adesso che ho trasformato Ape Mining Club in un gioco free to play posso continuare ad investire in completa spensieratezza e procederò così:

• il 50% delle ricompense mensili le investirò nell'acquisto di Quantum per aumentare progressivamente la produzione di token APE della mia macchina da mining.
• il 50% delle ricompense mensili le utilizzerò per fare Power Up su Hive.
