Dcrops BETA Presale: Purchase Cases - Calculations and Considerations
I love decentralization and blockchain-based games are one of my passions. I am an active player on almost all games built and developed on the Hive blockchain and Dcrops is one of the games I have decided to play and invest in since its early stages (May 2021).
Today, July 25, 20222, the BETA Presale of Dcrops began and it is possible to purchase NFT BETA packs at a discounted price compared to the general sale that will begin on August 25, 2022:
- $2.70 instead of $3
- 2550 CROP instead of 3000 CROP
The total number of BETA packs in circulation will be 300000 units, the distribution of which will be as follows:
- 100000 packs are currently purchasable during the Presale at a discounted price
- 190000 packs will be purchasable during the General Sale
- 10000 packs will be used for promotional purposes
At the time of writing this post 6003 Beta packs have been sold and there are 93997 Beta packs available for purchase.
It is possible to purchase Beta packs from the Shop section of Dcrops and there are also bonuses for purchases of multiple packs in one transaction:
- 100 BETA Packs (+10% Bonus Packs)
- 500 BETA Packs (+15% Bonus Packs)
- 2000 BETA Packs (+20% Bonus Packs)
In the past few days I have received requests for help and requests for advice on participating in the Presale Beta and on the best method for purchasing BETA card packs. In today's post I will do a series of calculations and evaluations to answer the questions I have received in the past few days.
To purchase Dcrops' BETA packs, you can choose from 5 different payment methods = 5 different tokens:
- HIVE
- SWAP.HIVE
- HBD
- CROP
- SWAP.BUDS
HIVE and HBD are the tokens of the Hive blockchain. SWAP.HIVE is the pegged version of the HIVE token (1:1 value) that can be used on Hive's second-level blockchain token markets such as Hive Engine and TribalDex. The SWAP.BUDS tokens are the version of the BUDS (stable coin of Binance) tokens that can be purchased and exchanged on the DEXs of the second-level tokens on the Hive blockchain. The CROP tokens are the native tokens of Dcrops and are second-level tokens of the Hive blockchain.
The major difference between the 5 tokens I listed earlier is that the HIVE, SWAP.HIVE and CROP tokens have values influenced and determined by market supply and demand. The HBD and SWAP.BUDS tokens are stable coins and their value although theoretically should be pegged to the dollar value generally fluctuates around the dollar value but never deviates much from the dollar value.
Buying a pack of BETA cards from Dcrops using one token rather than another as the payment method produces the same effective cost in dollars = $2.70?

In the diagram below you can see the values of all tokens that can be used as a payment method to purchase Dcrops Beta Packs (values as of today's date July 25, 2022).
Buying a Beta pack with HIVE or SWAP.HIVE tokens will always have an effective cost in dollars equal to $2.70 because in the Shop section of Dcrops the value of the HIVE and SWAP.HIVE tokens is continuously updated according to the market value.
So buying 1 Beta pack using HIVE tokens or SWAP.HIVE tokens as the payment method has an effective cost of $2.70 at the time of purchase. Right now 1 pack of BETA cards costs 5.0093 HIVE = $2.70.
If I use CROP tokens instead of HIVE/SWAP.HIVE tokens, 2550 CROP instead of 3000 CROP (15% discount) is required to buy a pack. Those who do not have CROP tokens must buy them, and if they want to buy them immediately, they must do so based on the value of the best sale offer (Lowest Ask) on Hive's second-level token markets. In this case buying a beta pack using CROP tokens has an effective cost of $5.49 instead of $2.70.
A possible less expensive alternative is to choose to wait some time and try to place a purchase offer (Highest BID). Based on the current value of the best purchase offer for CROP tokens and if the purchase offer is accepted by some seller, buying a Beta pack would cost $2.90 which is much less than the previous purchase case but is still a cost higher than $2.70.
On the Dcrops site buying a Beta pack with HBD tokens has a fixed cost of 2.70 HBD which does not take into consideration the market value of HBD tokens. Today, HBD tokens have had an unusual increase in value, which is why buying 1 Beta pack with HBD tokens has an effective cost of $3.37 instead of $2.70.
A possible alternative is to purchase SWAP.HBD tokens from Hive's second-level token markets and then convert them** into HBD tokens. The conversion operation is necessary because SWAP.HBD tokens are not among the tokens accepted in the SHOP section of Dcrops. The SWAP.HBD tokens needed to purchase 1 Beta Pack can be purchased immediately at the value of the best sale offer and in this case the effective cost of 1 Beta Pack is $3.63.
On the other hand, if you are willing to wait, you can try to make a purchase offer (Highest BID). Based on the current value of the best purchase offer for SWAP.HBD tokens and if the purchase offer is accepted by some seller buying a Beta pack would cost $3.22.
The last purchasing option for Beta Packs is the use of SWAP.BUSD tokens. Based on the best sale offer of SWAP.BUSD tokens (Lowest Ask) buying a BETA pack has an effective cost of $2.90.
Trying to place an offer to purchase would save money and the effective cost would be $2.75
The calculations I shared in this post show how always important it is to make calculations and evaluations before buying an asset in a blockchain-based farming game.
Today, July 25, 2022 buying a Beta pack of Dcrops has a variable cost that depends on the value of the tokens used as a payment method. The best purchase method is the use of HIVE/SWAP.HIVE tokens, which produce an effective cost of $2.70. In all other cases buying a Beta card pack generates an effective cost of more than $2.70 and in some cases the cost is much higher.
The worst result is obtained by using CROP tokens as a purchase method!
My advice for those who want to participate in the Dcrops presale beta is obviously to not directly use HBD, SWAP.BUDS and CROP to purchase beta packs but to first perform the following conversion steps: HBD->HIVE CROP->SWAP.HIVE SWAP.BUSD->SWAP.HIVE
Also, it is just my prediction but I do not think that the Beta packs will be sold in very few days, so it might be a good choice to make purchase offers instead of buying the tokens immediately. My purchasing goals related to Beta presale and some evaluations on Dcrops will be the topic of my next post on Dcrops.

Oggi 25 luglio 20222 è iniziata la BETA Presale di Dcrops ed è possibile acquistare i pacchi di NFT BETA ad un prezzo scontato rispetto alla general sale che inizierà il 25 agosto 2022:
- 2.70$ invece che 3$
- 2550 CROP invece che 3000 CROP
Il numero totale dei pacchi BETA in circolazione sarà di 300000 unità la cui distribuzione avverrà nel seguente modo:
- 100000 pacchi saranno acquistabili durante la Presale ad un prezzo scontato
- 190000 pacchi saranno acquistabili durante la General Sale
- 10000 pacchi saranno utilizzati a fini promozionali
Nel momento in cui scrivo questo post sono stati venduti 6003 Beta packs e ci sono 93997 Beta packs disponibili all'acquisto.
E' possibile effettuare l'acquisto dei pacchi Beta dalla sezione Shop di Dcrops e ci sono anche dei bonus per l'acquisto multiplo di più pacchi in un'unica transazione:

Nei giorni scorsi ho ricevuto richieste di aiuto e richieste di consigli sulla partecipazione alla Beta Presale e sul metodo migliore per acquistare i pacchi di carte BETA. Nel post di oggi farò una serie di calcoli e valutazioni per rispondere alle domande che ho ricevuto nei giorni scorsi.
Per acquistare i pacchi BETA di Dcrops è possibile scegliere tra 5 differenti metodi di pagamento = 5 token diversi:
- HIVE
- SWAP.HIVE
- HBD
- CROP
- SWAP.BUDS
HIVE e HBD sono i token della blockchain di Hive. SWAP.HIVE è la versione pegged del token HIVE (valore 1:1) utilizzabile sui mercati dei token di secondo livello della blockchain di Hive come ad esempio Hive Engine e TribalDex. I token SWAP.BUDS sono la versione dei token BUDS (stable coin di Binance) acquistabile e scambiabile sui DEX dei token di secondo livello della blockchain di Hive. I token CROP sono i token nativi di Dcrops e sono token di secondo livello della blockchain di Hive.
La differenza sostanziale tra i 5 token che ho elencato prima è che i token HIVE, SWAP.HIVE e CROP hanno valori influenzati e determinati dalla domanda e dall'offerta di mercato. I token HBD e SWAP.BUDS sono stable coins e il loro valore anche se teoricamente dovrebbe essere ancorato al valore del dollaro in genere oscilla intorno al valore del dollaro ma non si discosta mai di molto dal valore del dollaro.
Acquistare un pacco di carte BETA di Dcrops utilizzando come metodo di pagamento un token piuttosto che un'altro produce lo stesso costo effettivo in dollari = 2.70$?
Scopriamolo insieme ;)
Nello schema seguente puoi vedere i valori di tutti i token utilizzabili come metodo di pagamento per acquistare i Dcrops Beta Packs (valori aggiornati alla data di oggi 25 luglio 2022).
Acquistare un pacco Beta con i token HIVE o SWAP.HIVE avrà sempre un costo effettivo in dollari uguale a 2.70$ perchè nella sezione Shop di Dcrops il valore dei token HIVE e SWAP.HIVE è aggiornato continuamente in base al valore di mercato.
Quindi acquistare 1 pacco Beta utilizzando come metodo di pagamento i token HIVE e i token SWAP.HIVE ha un costo effettivo di 2.70$ al momento dell'acquisto. In questo momento 1 pacco di carte BETA costa 5.0093 HIVE = 2.70$.
Se invece dei token HIVE/SWAP.HIVE utilizzo i token CROP per acquistare un pacco sono necessari 2550 CROP invece di 3000 CROP (15% di sconto). Chi non ha token CROP deve acquistarli e se vuole acquistarli immediatamente deve farlo in base al valore della migliore offerta di vendita (Lowest Ask) sui mercati dei token di secondo livello di Hive. In questo caso acquistare un pacco beta utilizzando i token CROP ha un costo effettivo di 5.49$ invece di 2.70$.
Un alternativa meno costosa è quella di scegliere di aspettare del tempo e provare a piazzare un'offerta di acquisto (Highest BID). In base al valore attuale della migliore offerta di acquisto dei token CROP e se l'offerta di acquisto viene accettata da qualche venditore acquistare un pacco Beta costerebbe 2.90$ che è molto meno del caso di acquisto precedente ma è comunque un costo superiore a 2.70$.
Sul sito di Dcrops acquistare un pacco Beta con i token HBD ha un costo fisso di 2.70 HBD che non tiene conto del valore di mercato dei token HBD. Oggi i token HBD hanno avuto un inusuale aumento di valore e per questo motivo acquistare 1 pacco Beta con i token HBD ha un costo effettivo di 3.37$ invece di 2.70$.
Una possibile alternativa è quella di acquistare i token SWAP.HBD dai mercati dei token di secondo livello di Hive e poi convertirli in token HBD. L'operazione di conversione è necessaria perchè i token SWAP.HBD non sono tra i token accettati nella sezione SHOP di Dcrops. I token SWAP.HBD necessari per acquistare 1 pacco Beta possono essere acquistati immediatamente al valore della migliore offerta di vendita e in questo caso il costo effettivo di 1 Beta Pack è di 3.63$.
Se invece si è disposti ad aspettare è possibile provare ad effettuare un'offerta di acquisto (Highest BID). In base al valore attuale della migliore offerta di acquisto per i token SWAP.HBD e se l'offerta di acquisto viene accettata da qualche venditore acquistare un pacco Beta costerebbe 3.22$.
L'ultima opzione di acquisto per i Beta Packs è l'utilizzo dei token SWAP.BUSD. In base alla migliore offerta di vendita dei token SWAP.BUSD (Lowest Ask) acquistare un pacco BETA ha un costo effettivo di 2.90$.
Provare a piazzare un'offerta di acquisto permetterebbe di risparmiare e il costo effettivo sarebbe di 2.75$
I calcoli che ho condiviso in questo mio post mostrano quanto sia sempre importante fare calcoli e valutazioni prima di acquistare un asset in un gioco di farming basato su blockchain.
Oggi 25 luglio 2022 acquistare un pacco Beta di Dcrops ha un costo variabile che dipende dal valore dei token utilizzati come metodo di pagamento. Il migliore metodo di acquisto è l'utilizzo dei token HIVE/SWAP.HIVE che producono un costo effettivo di 2.70$. In tutti gli altri casi acquistare un pacco di carte Beta genera un costo effettivo superiore a 2.70$ e in alcuni casi il costo è molto superiore.
Il mio consiglio per chi vuole partecipare alla Beta presale di Dcrops è ovviamente quello di non utilizzare direttamente HBD, SWAP.BUDS e CROP per acquistare i pacchi beta ma di effettuare prima le seguenti operazioni di conversione: HBD->HIVE CROP->SWAP.HIVE SWAP.BUSD->SWAP.HIVE
Inoltre è solo la mia previsione ma non credo che i pacchi Beta verranno venduti in pochissimi giorni e quindi potrebbe essere una buona scelta quella di effettuare offerte di acquisto invece di acquistare i token immediatamente ad esclusione dell'utilizzo dei token HIVE e SWAP.HIVE. I miei obiettivi di acquisto relativi alla Beta presale e alcune valutazioni su Dcrops saranno l'argomento del mio prossimo post su Dcrops.
