dCrops: Easter Event is Over! My Financial Evaluation: Profit and ROI calculation (ENG/ITA)

I usually write a post about dCrops every 15-16 days to share my gaming activity which is mostly concentrated between the end of one season and the beginning of the next season. Today I am writing a post in the middle of the current season because a few days ago the dCrops Easter Event ended and it is time for me to review whether my participation in the event produced negative or positive financial results.

The Easter Event was a very similar event to the previous XMAS event organised by dCrops during the Christmas period because both events had the same participation mechanisms.

I enjoyed the XMAS event so much that I changed my game strategy on dCrops immediately after the XMAS event ended. In fact after the end of the XMAS event I decided to no longer sell the crops I was producing but to keep them in my inventory to sell during the next event because I wanted to have an additional advantage to use for more event points.

For 6 seasons consecutively I did not sell the crops I produced except for the crops whose sale was necessary to complete the seasonal quests.

At the Easter Event it was possible to play in two modes:

a completely free mode that only required you to perform the usual game actions to receive points
a paid mode (Easter Bunny Team), which cost 5000 CROP and allowed you to randomly send Golden Eggs to other players and receive them throughout the duration of the promotion.

I chose to play in both modes and at the beginning of the Easter Event I also recommended participation to all my readers because according to my calculations the Easter Event was a "positive expected value (+ev)" event. # Easter Event: My financial balance

Unfortunately I did not participate in the Easter Event from day one because I started 3 days later, but for 30 days I always sent the Daily Gifts.

I had built myself a spreadsheet to keep track of all the data from my participation in the event, but today thanks to @seeyouinlumb's post I discovered the existence of a beautiful and useful tool created by @loofte that allows me to have a lot of data about the Easter Event.

In 30 days of participation in the event I have:

earned 11407 Easter Eggs Points
sent 90 Gifts
received 111 Gifts

I was very lucky because I sent exactly 3 gifts per day (90/30) without skipping any days and I received 3.7 gifts per day (111/30).

My luck is obvious and is shown in the Top 20 Gift Receiver chart where I am in 19th place.

The luckiest was @oldmans who received more than 250 gifts! Wow

A positive expected value event is not a certain positive return value event. The odds of spending 5000 CROP and ending the promotion with a profit were very high in my opinion but not certain and if one player was very lucky to receive 250 gifts there must also be another player who was very unlucky.

A few days ago my friend @arc7icwolf commented on a post of mine on dCrops saying that he had received 1 Golden Ticket in about 10 days and I replied that in my opinion he had been really unlucky. Mine was just an impression but today my dear friend I can say with certainty that you were really unlucky because:

you sent 87 gifts
you have received 48 gifts

Generally luck and bad luck offset each other in the long term (or rather very long term) and I hope that in the next event @arc7icwolf will be rewarded with a lot of luck ;)

Returning to my report, in 30 days I obtained 41 Golden Tickets:

13 Golden Tickets bought with easter eggs
27 Golden Tickets found in Golden Eggs (daily gifts)

My main goal was the NFT Fairy Garden because I didn't have a Legendary Land in my card collection.

I was also lucky here because when there was only one Fairy Garden left that I could buy, I received the 15th Golden Ticket that I was missing to make the purchase from the Event Shop.

At this moment there is only one Fairy Garden for sale on the market and the sale price is 145 SWAP.HIVE.

I used the other Golden Tickets to purchase from the Event Shop:

I am therefore satisfied with my purchases from the Event Shop.

## dCrops Easter Event: Profit and ROI calculation

Those who regularly read my posts know that I like to do calculations and evaluations.

To join the Easter Bunny Team I spent 5000 CROP.

Today 12 May 2023 1 CROP has a value of:

0.00398999 SWAP.HIVE = $0.0014361 (Lowest Ask)
0.00369788 SWAP.HIVE = $0.0013310 (Highest Bid)

To participate in the Easter Bunny Team I spent 5000 CROP whose current value is 18.48 HIVE = $7.5437.

In the following table I have noted and calculated the unit and total market value of the tokens and NFTs I found within the daily gifts: Total value: 33.33 SWAP.HIVE = $11.99.

To the total value above I have to add the total value of the NFTs I purchased from the Event Shop using the Golden Tickets I found in the Golden Eggs I received and purchased.

I used 39/41 Golden Tickets to purchase:

2 BETA Packs - Cost: 4 Golden Tickets - Total Value: 10.60 SWAP.HIVE.
1 Fairy Garden - Cost: 15 Golden Tickets - Market Value: 145 SWAP.HIVE
1 Lucky Cat - Cost: 20 Golden Tickets - Market Value: ? (There are no cards for sale on the market)

Thanks to the use of 39 Golden Tickets I purchased items with a total estimated value of 155.60 SWAP.HIVE = $56.01.

With the data I have collected, I can calculate the financial results (profit and ROI) of my participation in the Easter Event promotion.

Participating in dCrops' Easter Event promotion allowed me

to have fun because sending and receiving gifts is fun
earn a profit of 170.44 SWAP.HIVE = $61.36 (XMAS Event Profit: $18.62)
to obtain a ROI of +921.825% (ROI XMAS Event: +253.36%)

My participation in the Easter Event was more profitable than my previous participation in the XMAS Event!

Obviously the Profit and ROI I calculated today are estimated results because I did not check the saleability of the NFTs I received but considered the lower market value. For example, I do not know whether the NFT Fairy Garden is easily saleable at 145 SWAP.HIVE.

Even if estimated my financial results are really good and could be even better because I used 2500 ester eggs to buy 10 Golden Eggs that I sent to other players and with this good deed of mine I accumulated 10 points in the Easter Raffle and could receive other valuable prizes if I get lucky during the draw...

**Participating in the Easter Event was really the right choice, fun and at the same time very profitable for me!

From now on I will follow the same strategy that I adopted before the Easter Event started:

I will only sell crops to complete quests
I will only sell all other crops during the next event.

Di solito scrivo un post su dCrops ogni 15-16 giorni per condividere la mia attività di gioco che è concentrata maggiormente tra la fine di una stagione e l'inizio della successiva stagione. Oggi scrivo un post nel bel mezzo della stagione in corso perchè pochi giorni fa è finito l'evento pasquale di dCrops, l'Easter Event, ed è il momento per me di fare un bilancio per verificare se la mia partecipazione all'evento ha prodotto risultati negativi o positivi.

L'Easter Event è stato un evento molto simile al precedente evento XMAS organizzato da dCrops durante il periodo natalizio perchè entrambi gli eventi avevano gli stessi meccanismi di partecipazione.

L'evento XMAS mi è talmente piaciuto che subito dopo la conclusione dell'XMAS event ho modificato la mia strategia di gioco su dCrops. Infatti dopo la fine dell'evento XMAS ho deciso di non vendere più i crops che producevo ma di conservarli nel mio inventario per venderli durante il successivo evento perchè volevo avere un vantaggio aggiuntivo da sfruttare per ottenere più punti,

Per 6 stagioni consecutive non ho venduto i crops che ho prodotto ad esclusione dei soli crops la cui vendita era necessaria per completare le quests stagionali.

All'Easter Event era possibile giocare in due modalità:

una modalità completamente gratuita che richiedeva solo di effettuare le usuali azioni di gioco per ricevere punti
una madalità a pagamento (Easter Bunny Team), che aveva un costo di 5000 CROP e che permetteva di inviare in modo casuale Golden Eggs ad altri giocatori e di riceverli durante tutta la durata della promozione.

Io ho scelto di giocare in entrambe le modalità e all'inizio dell'Easter Event ho anche consigliato la partecipazione a tutti i miei lettori perchè in base ai miei calcoli l'Easter Event era un evento a "valore atteso positivo (+ev)". # Easter Event: Il mio bilancio

Purtroppo non ho partecipato all'Easter Event dal primo giorno perchè ho iniziato con 3 giorni di ritardo ma per 30 giorni ho sempre inviato i Daily Gift.

Mi ero costruito un foglio di calcolo per tenere traccia di tutti i dati della mia partecipazione all'evento ma oggi grazie al post di @seeyouinlumb ho scoperto l'esistenza di un bellissimo e utile tool creato da @loofte che permette di avere tanti dati sull'Easter Event.

In 30 giorni di partecipazione all'evento ho:

guadagnato 11407 Easter Eggs Points
inviato 90 Gifts
ho ricevuto 111 Gifts

Sono stato molto fortunato perchè ho inviato esattamente 3 gifts al giorno (90/30) senza saltare nessun giorno e ho ricevuto 3.7 gifts al giorno (111/30).

La mia fortuna è evidente ed è mostrata nel grafico Top 20 Gift Receiver dove sono al 19° posto.

Il più fortunato è stato @oldmans che ha ricevuto più di 250 gifts! Wow

Un evento a valore atteso positivo non è un evento a valore di ritorno positivo certo. Le probabilità di spendere 5000 CROP e concludere la promozione con un Profitto erano molto alte secondo me ma non certe e se un giocatore è stato molto fortunato a ricevere 250 gifts ci deve essere anche un altro giocatore che è stato molto sfortunato.

Qualche giorno fa il mio amico @arc7icwolf aveva commentato un mio post su dCrops dicendomi che aveva ricevuto 1 Golden Ticket in circa 10 giorni e io gli avevo risposto che secondo me era stato davvero sfortunato. La mia era solo una impressione ma oggi caro amico mio posso affermare con certezza che sei stato davvero sfortunato perchè:

hai inviato 87 gifts
hai ricevuto 48 gifts

In genere la fortuna e la sfortuna si compensano nel lungo periodo (o meglio lunghissimo periodo) e spero che nel prossimo evento @arc7icwolf sia ricompensato con tanta fortuna ;)

Tornando al mio resoconto, in 30 giorni ho ottenuto 41 Golden Tickets:

13 Golden Tickets acquistati con i easter eggs
27 Golden Tickets trovati nei Golden Eggs

Il mio obiettivo principale era l'NFT Fairy Garden perchè nella mia collezione di carte non avevo una Land leggendaria.

Sono stato fortunato anche qui perchè quando era rimasto un solo Fairy Garden acquistabile ho ricevuto il 15° Golden Ticket che mi mancava per fare l'acquisto dall'Event Shop.

In questo momento c'è solo un Fairy Garden in vendita sul mercato e il prezzo di vendita è di 145 SWAP.HIVE

Ho utilizzato gli altri Golden Tickets per acquistare dall'Event Shop:

Sono quindi soddisfatto dei miei acquisti dall'Event Shop.

Per entrare nell'Easter Bunny Team ho speso 5000 CROP.

Oggi 12 maggio 2023 1 CROP ha un valore di:

Al valore totale precedente devo aggiungere il valore totale degli NFTs che ho acquistato dall'Event Shop utilizzando i Golden Tickets che ho trovato nei Golden Eggs che ho ricevuto e che ho acquistato.

Ho utilizzato 39/41 Golden Tickets per acquistare:

Grazie all'utilizzo di 39 Golden Tickets ho acquistato items che hanno un valore stimato totale di 155.60 SWAP.HIVE = 56.01$.

Con i dati che ho raccolto posso calcolare i risultati finanziari (Profit e ROI) della mia partecipazione alla promozione Easter Event.

Partecipare alla promozione Easter Event di dCrops mi ha permesso:

di divertirmi perchè inviare e ricevere gifts è divertente
di ottenere un Profitto di 170.44 SWAP.HIVE = 61.36$ (Profitto XMAS Event: 18.62$)
di ottenere un ROI del +921.825% (ROI XMAS Event: +253.36%)

La mia partecipazione all'Easter Event è stata più profittevole della mia precedente partecipazione al XMAS Event!

Ovviamente il Profitto e il ROI che ho calcolato oggi sono risultati stimati perchè non ho verificato la vendibilità degli NFTs che ho ricevuto ma ho considerato il valore di mercato più basso. Ad esempio non so se l'NFT Fairy Garden sia facilmente vendibile a 145 SWAP.HIVE.

Anche se stimati i miei risultati finanziari sono davvero ottimi e potrebbero essere ancora migliori perchè ho utilizzato 2500 ester eggs per acquistare 10 Golden Eggs che ho inviato ad altri giocatori e con questa mia buona azione ho accumulato 10 punti nell'Easter Raffle e potrei ricevere altri premi di valore se sarò fortunato durante l'estrazione...

Partecipare all'Easter Event è stata davvero una scelta giusta, divertente e allo stesso tempo molto profittevole per me!

A partire da adesso seguirò la stessa strategia che ho adottato prima dell'inizio dell'Easter Event:

venderò solo i crops per completare le quests
venderò tutti gli altri crops solo durante il prossimo evento
