Hi Hivers and Splinterlands players, with this post I participate in the contest "Share Your Battle" Splinterlands whose theme this week is the card Elven Cutthroat.

Elven Cutthroat
Elven Cutthroat is a card that is part of the Beta collection of the Splinterlands game and is available in two versions: Regular and Gold. The starting level of the Gold version is the fourth level.
Elven Cutthroat is' a Common type card and is a card of the Neutral element. The advantage of Neutral element cards is that they can be used with any summoner.
Elven Cutthroat - Regular Version of level 1 has the following battle statistics:
- It has a mana cost of 3 points.
- Has a 1 point melee attack
- Has a single life point and has no armor points.
- Has an average speed value (3).
- Has an ability: Sneak.
Thanks to the Sneak ability, the Elven Cutthroat card will attack the card in last position instead of the card placed in first position.
Market Value and Levels
Each card in the game of Splinterland comes in two versions: Regular and Gold. Some cards are also present in two different collections: Alpha and Beta. Elven Cutthroat is present in only one collection (Beta) and so there are in total 2 Elven Cutthroat cards (Regular and Gold) that differ for:
- cost (the Gold version costs much more)
- starting level (gold version starts from level 4)
- number of cards needed to increase the level (lower number for Gold version)
- number of cards in circulation.
The levels with the best benefit/price ratio
Level 4
Level 4 is the level that, in my opinion, has the best benefit/price ratio! When Elven Cutthroat reaches level 4:
- increases his life points by one unit (1->2) compared to level 1
- increases his melee attack by one point (1->2).
To reach level 4 you need:
- 12 cards to combine for the Regular version and the best price on the market is 47.40$ (3.95$ per card).
The gold version already starts at level 4 but the price on the market is higher as you can see from the following image.
The other interesting level is level 8 because Elven Cutthroat acquires:
- 3 total attack points
- 4 life points total
At this level it becomes much more useful in battle but of course the cost of buying it increases considerably.
Level 10 (Max level)
In my opinion, bringing Elven Cutthroat to the maximum level is not a good choice because the cost is not justified by the improvement of battle statistics in the transition from level 8 to level 10. This consideration of mine is evident by comparing level 8 and 10 cards with their relative purchase prices.

- Unprotected: All cards with armor points lose armor points.
- Mana Cap: 20.
- Useable Summoners: Only summoners of the elements can be used: Fire, Earth, and Dragon.
My Battle Formation
First Position: Cerberus (Level 5)
For the first position I chose to deploy Cerberus (level 5).
Second position: Manticore (level 5)
In second position I fielded Manticore (level 5).
Manticore (level 5) is really a very useful card in battle and one that I use often in second position. It has the Thorns ability that allows you to counter melee attacks suffered with a reduced but still useful attack. A good supply of life points (8) and a good speed make Manticore one of the most useful cards in second position also considering the fact that it has a very low cost in terms of mana (4) in relation to its battle statistics.
Third position: Fiendish Harpy (level 4)
Very useful card that I use often when battles are low on mana available. It only costs 2 mana and has a good melee attack (2) and good speed (4). Thanks to the Opportunity ability it can attack from all positions.
Fourth position: Elven Cutthroat (level 4)
In fourth position I have deployed Elven Cutthroat (level 4)
It has a good base attack (2) and good speed (4) and thanks to the summoner's ability Daria Dragonscale increases its attack by one point (2->3). It has only two life points and for this reason I decided to place it in fourth position because it is a position that provides some protection.
Fifth position: Kobold Miner (level 4)
Kobold Miner level 4 is a card I often use in battles with little mana available. It has a good attack (2) and a good ability (Sneak) that allows Kobold Miner to attack from all positions.
Sixth position: Furious Chicken (level 3 - Gold)
Furious Chicken is one of the most useful cards in battle because it is the only card in Splinterlands that has a mana cost of 0.
Its function is almost always that of "sacrificable chicken" and in fact in the battle of this post I placed Furious Chicken in last position to protect from a possible first attack the card Kobold Miner.
As summoner I chose Daria Dragonscale (level 6).
Thanks to Daria Dragonscale's ability, my melee attack cards increase their attack points by one unit.
Battle Considerations
The battle I chose to share is by no means a balanced battle, and I start with a huge advantage relative to attack points: 19 attack points VS 8 attack points. I chose to share this battle to show especially to new players how important it is to choose functional cards that fit the battle rules.
When the rule is Unprotected choosing as a Summoner Drake Of Arnak is equivalent to choosing a Summoner with no ability because the Unprotected battle rule cancels the ability of the Summoner Drake Of Arnak that my opponent used. My opponent's second mistake was to choose to field a card in battle that is strong (Diamond Dragon) but becomes weak when the battle rule is Unprotected. Diamond Dragon has 10 armor points, but they are cancelled by the Unprotected battle rule.
Thanks to my opponent's strategic mistakes the battle ends in a few rounds.
Round 1
In the following image you can see the starting situation: My summoner Daria Dragonscale increases the attack points of my cards by one unit. The Slow ability of my opponent's Creeping Ooze and Diamond Dragon cards decrease the speed of my cards by two and allow my opponent to attack first.
During Round 1, my opponent loses all cards except Diamond Dragon, which, as the only enemy card in play, increases its battle stats with the Last Stand ability.
Round 2
At the beginning of Round 2 I lose Cerberus and in first position comes Manticore.
My opponent's Diamon Dragon card is left with only two life points after Manticore's attack but manages to avoid three consecutive attacks thanks to its high speed (5).
Round 3
The battle ends in the third round of Round 3 and the decisive attack is Elven Cutthroat.
From the battle victory I get +38 rating points and 38.26 DEC tokens.
A quick battle that earned me the equivalent of $0.38. This battle shows all the importance of battle rules and not following them leads to probable defeat.
The moral of this fairy tale battle could be:
Final Considerations on Elven Cutthroat
Elven Cutthroat is a useful card in battles when the battle rules are favorable to its playing characteristics.
In my view, the battle rules favorable to using the Elven Cutthroat card in battle are mainly:
- Little League: without the ability to field cards costing more than 4 mana Elven Cutthroat definitely becomes a good choice.
- Equalizer: Elven Cutthroat has one big weakness: 2 life. When the battle rule is Equalizer Elven Cutthroat gains the life points of the card (friend or foe) that has the most life points, and as a result it loses its weakness and becomes a much more useful and difficult card to remove from battle.
- Unprotected: Elven Cutthroat has only two life points and no armor points, and by removing armor points from battle many cards become weaker and Elven Cutthroat becomes more useful as a result.
- Rise of the Commons: Without legendary, epic, and rare cards, the battle utility of a common card like Elven Cutthroat increases.
Elven Cutthroat is a good buy?
Elven Cutthroat is a useful card in battle, but it is also a card that costs a lot more than cards that have similar battle stats.
For example, an alternative to Elven Cutthroat is Uraeus.
Elven Cutthroat has two more speed points than Uraeus Uraeus has 1 armor point while Elven Cutthroat has no armor points.
The two cards are basically equivalent in battle but Uraeus costs much less ...

Elven Cutthroat
Elven Cutthroat è una carta che fa parte della collezione Beta del gioco di Splinterlands ed è disponibile in due versioni: Regular e Gold. Il livello iniziale della versione Gold è il quarto livello.
Elven Cutthroat è' una carta di tipo Comune ed è una carta dell'elemento Neutrale. Il vantaggio delle carte dell'elemento Neutrale è che possono essere utilizzate con qualsiasi evocatore.
Elven Cutthroat - Regular Version di livello 1 ha le seguenti statistiche di battaglia:
- Ha un costo in mana di 3 punti
- Ha 1 punto di attacco da mischia
- Ha un solo punto vita e non ha punti armatura.
- Ha una velocità di valore medio (3)
- Ha un'abilità: Sneak.
Grazie all'abilità Sneak la carta Elven Cutthroat attaccherà la carta in ultima posizione invece della carta posizionata in prima posizione.
Valore di Mercato e Livelli
Ogni carta nel gioco di Splinterland è presente in due versioni: Regular e Gold. Alcune carte sono presenti anche in due collezioni diverse: Alpha e Beta. Elven Cutthroat è presente in un unica collezione (Beta) e quindi ci sono in totale 2 carte Elven Cutthroat (Regular e Gold) che si differenziano per:
- costo (la versione Gold costa molto di più)
- livello di partenza (la versione gold parte dal livello 4)
- numero di carte necessarie per aumentare il livello (numero inferiore per la versione Gold)
- numero di carte in circolazione.
I livelli con il miglior rapporto benefici/prezzo
Livello 4
Il livello 4 è il livello che, secondo me, ha il miglior rapporto benefici / prezzo! Quando Elven Cutthroat raggiunge il livello 4:
- aumenta i punti vita di un'unità (1->2) rispetto al livello 1
- incrementa il suo attacco da mischia di un punto (1->2).
Per raggiungere il quarto livello sono necessarie:
- 12 carte da combinare per la versione Regular e il prezzo più vantaggioso sul mercato è di 47.40 $ (3.95$ per carta).
La versione gold parte già dal livello 4 ma il prezzo di vendita sul mercato è più alto come puoi vedere dall'immagine seguente.
L'altro livello interessante è il livello 8 perchè Elven Cutthroat acquisisce:
- 3 punti di attacco totali
- 4 punti vita totali
A questo livello diventa molto più utile in battaglia ma ovviamente il costo di acquisto aumenta in modo considerevole.
Livello 10 (Max level)
Secondo me portare Elven Cutthroat al massimo livello non è una buona scelta perchè il costo da sostenere non è giustificato dal miglioramento delle statistiche di battaglia nel passaggio dal livello 8 al livello 10. Questa mia considerazione è evidente confrontando le carte di livello 8 e 10 con i loro relativi prezzi di acquisto.

- Unprotected: Tutte le carte con punti armatura perdono i punti armatura.
- Mana Cap: 20.
- Evocatori utilizzabili: Possono essere utilizzati solo gli evocatori degli elementi: Fuoco, Terra e Dragone.
La mia formazione di battaglia
Prima posizione: Cerberus (Livello 5)
Per la prima posizione ho scelto di schierare Cerberus (livello 5).
Cerberus (livello 5) è una delle carte dell'elemento Fuoco che uso di più sopratutto quando i mana a disposizione sono pochi. Mi sarebbe piaciuto potenziarla fino al livello 7 ma è adesso una carta che costa molto e quindi ci ho ripensato. Cerberus è una carta che ha due buone abilità (Heal e Retaliate), gioca bene in prima posizione e ha un costo in termini di mana davvero basso in relazione alle sue caratteristiche.
Seconda posizione: Manticore (livello 5)
In seconda posizione ho schierato Manticore (livello 5).
Manticore (livello 5) è davvero una carta molto utile in battaglia e che utilizzo spesso in seconda posizione. Ha l'abilità Thorns che permette di contrattaccare gli attacchi da mischia subiti con un attacco ridotto ma sempre utile. Una buona dotazione di punti vita (8) e una buona velocità rendono Manticore una delle carte più utili in seconda posizione anche considerato il fatto che ha un costo in termini di mana molto basso (4) in relazione alle sue statistiche di battaglia.
Terza posizione: Fiendish Harpy (livello 4)
Carta molto utile e che uso spesso quando le battaglie hanno pochi mana disponibili. Costa solo 2 mana e ha un buon attacco da mischia (2) e una buona velocità (4). Grazie all'abilità Opportunity può attaccare da tutte le posizioni.
Quarta posizione: Elven Cutthroat (livello 4)
In quarta posizione ho schierato Elven Cutthroat (livello 4)
Ha un buon attacco di base (2) e una buona velocità (4) e grazie all'abilità dell'evocatore Daria Dragonscale aumenta di un punto il suo attacco (2->3). Ha solo due punti vita e per questo motivo ho deciso di posizionarla in quarta posizione perchè è una posizione che garantisce un pò di protezione.
Quinta posizione: Kobold Miner (livello 4)
Kobold Miner di livello 4 è una carta che uso spesso nelle battaglie con pochi mana disponibili. Ha un buon attacco (2) e un una buona abilità (Sneak) che permette a Kobold Miner di attaccare da tutte le posizioni.
Sesta posizione: Furious Chicken (livello 3 - Gold)
Furious Chicken è una delle carte più utili in battaglia perchè è l'unica carta di Splinterlands che ha un costo in termini di mana uguale a 0.
La sua funzione è quasi sempre quella di "pollo sacrificabile" e infatti nella battaglia di questo post ho posizionato Furious Chicken in ultima posizione per proteggere da un possibile primo attacco la carta Kobold Miner.
Come evocatore ho scelto Daria Dragonscale (livello 6).
Grazie all'abilità di Daria Dragonscale le mie carte con attacco da mischia aumentano i punti di attacco di un'unità.
Considerazioni sulla Battaglia
La battaglia che ho scelto di condividere non è assolutamente una battaglia equilibrata e io parto con un vantaggio enorme relativo ai punti di attacco: 19 punti di attacco VS 8 punti di attacco. Ho scelto di condividere questa battaglia per mostrare sopratutto ai nuovi giocatori quanto è importante scegliere carte funzionali e adatte alle regole di battaglia.
Quando la regola è Unprotected scegliere come evocatore Drake Of Arnak equivale a scegliere un evocatore senza abilità perchè la regola di battaglia Unprotected annulla l'abilità dell'evocatore Drake Of Arnak che il mio avversario ha utilizzato. Il secondo errore del mio avversario è stato quello di scegliere di schierare in battaglia una carta forte (Diamond Dragon) ma non quando la regola di battaglia è Unprotected. Diamond Dragon ha 10 punti armatura che però vengono annullati dalla regola di battaglia Unprotected.
Grazie agli errori strategici del mio avversario la battaglia termina in pochi round.
Round 1
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere la situazione di partenza: Il mio evocatore Daria Dragonscale aumenta i punti di attacco delle mie carte di un'unità. L'abilità Slow delle carte Creeping Ooze e Diamond Dragon schierate dal mio avversario diminuiscono la velocità delle mie carte di due unità e permettono al mio avversario di attaccare per primo.
Durante il Round 1 il mio avversario perde tutte le carte tranne Diamond Dragon che, rimasta unica carta avversaria in gioco, aumenta le sue statistiche di battaglia grazie all'abilità Last Stand.
Round 2
All'inizio del Round 2 perdo Cerberus e in prima posizione arriva Manticore.
La carta Diamon Dragon del mio avversario rimane con soli due punti vita dopo l'attacco di Manticore ma riesce ad evitare tre attacchi consecutivi grazie all'alta velocità (5).
Round 3
La battaglia termina al terzo turno del Round 3 e a sferrare l'attacco decisivo è proprio Elven Cutthroat.
Dalla vittoria in battaglia ottengo +38 punti di rating e 38.26 token DEC.
Una battaglia veloce che mi ha fatto guadagnare l'equivalente di 0.38$. Questa battaglia mostra tutta l'importanza delle regole di battaglia e non seguirle porta ad una probabile sconfitta.
La morale di questa favola battaglia potrebbe essere:
Considerazioni Finali su Elven Cutthroat
Elven Cutthroat è una carta utile in battaglie quando le regole di battaglia sono favorevoli alle sue caratteristiche di gioco.
Secondo il mio punto di vista le regole di combattimento favorevoli all'utilizzo in battaglia della carta Elven Cutthroat sono principalmente:
- Little League: senza la possibilità di schierare le carte che costano più di 4 mana Elven Cutthroat diventa decisamente un'ottima scelta.
- Equalizer: Elven Cutthroat ha un grande punto debole: 2 punti vita. Quando la regola di battaglia è Equalizer Elven Cutthroat acquisisce i punti vita della carta (amica o nemica) che ha il maggior numero di punti vita e di conseguenza perde il suo punto debole e diventa una carta molto più utile e difficile da eliminare dalla battaglia.
- Unprotected: Elven Cutthroat ha solo due punti vita e non ha punti armatura ed eliminado i punti armatura dalla battaglia molte carte si indeboliscono e Elven Cutthroat diventa di conseguenza più utile.
- Rise of the Commons: Senza carte leggendarie, epiche e rare, l'utilità in battaglia di una carta comune come Elven Cutthroat aumenta.
Elven Cutthroat è un buon acquisto?
Elven Cutthroat è una carta utile in battaglia ma è anche una carta che costa molto di più rispetto a carte che hanno statistiche di battaglia simili.
Ad esempio un'alternativa a Elven Cutthroat è Uraeus.
Elven Cutthroat ha due punti velocità in più rispetto ad Uraeus Uraeus ha 1 punto armatura menter Elven Cutthroat non ha punti armatura.
Le due carte si equivalgono sostanzialmente in battaglia ma Uraeus costa molto meno...
