Today is 1 October 2022 and it is exactly 1306 days, just over three and a half years, that I am a Hive user. If Splinterlands is my favourite blockchain-based game Hive is without a shadow of a doubt my favourite blockchain project and it is by no means a case that the home of Splinterlands is Hive. As a blockchain-based game enthusiast I consider Hive to be the ideal environment for blockchain-based game because Hive has so many utilities, is fast and has no transaction costs in terms of dollars but only Resource Credits.
Imagine for a moment a Fortnite or Hearthstone player who has never interacted with a blockchain and decides to try playing an NFT based game built on Ethereum such as Axie Infinity:
- he has to open a wallet, Metamask for example, and then he has to understand how it works
- must understand how to buy ETHs and then must buy them (probably from a CEX)
- every time he has to make a transaction such as transferring ETH from the CEX to his wallet he has to pay transaction fees which can be very high.
- every time he has to transfer or buy an NFT he must first calculate the transaction costs and to pay less he must necessarily learn to use tools to find out when the network is less congested.
- finally, he must understand how the game he wants to play works...
How many players do you think will quit in one of the initial steps?
My guess is many.
Now imagine the same Fortnite or Heartstone player who wants to try playing a Hive-based game and registers on Hive:
- can register totally without cost on Hive via Hive On Board or via Leofinance If he registers via Leofinance he will receive a temporary delegation of 10 HP with which he can immediately perform many operations on the Hive blockchain at 0 cost.
- he can install Hive Keychain in which he only has to enter the keys once and then he can register and log in to his favourite game and can use all Hive applications whenever he wants and with only one password and one click.
There's a big difference, isn't there? Which path has less difficulty?
On Hive if I want to transfer a token the transfer is immediate and costs me 0$. On Hive if I want to transfer a Splinterlands NFT the transfer is immediate and costs me 0$.
How many blockchain projects have transaction costs = 0$?
- Furthermore, a new Hive user can start publishing content and interacting with other Hive users. If the published content is liked by other Hive users he can, seven days after publication, earn his first HP and RCs without having invested anything initially except his own time.
- In addition, if a new user has initial difficulties he will already find on Hive many posts and tutorials with advice on how to make the first steps on Hive and if he asks for help to other more experienced Hive users he will surely receive help and disponibility as it happened to me when I was a new user.
Hive is a great ecosystem of apps, sites and communities and I'm very happy that the number of projects developed or under development on Hive is continuously increasing because every new project created on Hive adds value to Hive and contributes to its promotion and expansion and on the other hand Hive adds value to every project built on it.
In addition, the development of Hive-based applications will be much easier in the future because @blocktrades is working on the development and testing of the Hive Application Framework (HAF) which should make application development on the Hive blockchain much easier and in my opinion will increase the number of Hive-based applications even more.
Why will the introduction of HAF be so important?
The answer is simple and is evident by looking at the graph in the image below.
When HAF is introduced, even the programmer who has no experience in developing blockchain-based programmes will be able to develop a Hive-based application in a very simplified way because
- he will be able to choose to use the programming language he prefers (C++, Java, ...)
- will only have to know the famous and widespread SQL language to use the HAF framework and thus to interface with the Hive blockchain.
This in my opinion will be a big step forward for Hive and its entire ecosystem.
October will be a very interesting month for Hive because there will be the Hard Fork number 26 (planned date 11 October 2022) which will bring interesting changes such as the ability to separately delegate Hive Power (HP) and Resource Credits (RC) which are now linked together and inseparable.

Regarding the value of the HIVE token, today 1 HIVE has a value of $0.483832.
Exactly one year ago (2 October 2022) 1 HIVE was worth 0.640101$ and so in a one year time frame the decrease in value is -24.41%.
We are in the midst of a Bear Market and this decrease in value should be put into context with the current market situation and above all it is clear that Hive is defending itself well against the negative effects of the Bear Market.
In fact if you compare the change in value over a one year interval of the BTC and ETH tokens and the tokens of two other DPOS blockchain projects (STEEM and WAX) you can see that the HIVE token is the token that has lost the least value.
In fact, those who invested in BTC on 2 October 2021 lost 59.98% of their initial investment. Those who invested in ETH lost 59.99% of their initial investment Those who invested in WAX lost 68.21% of their initial investment Those who invested in STEEM lost 56.87% of their initial investment Whoever invested in HIVE lost only 24.41% of his initial investment but if he used his HIVE to do Power UP and used his HP for curation he most likely lost only 16.41% (considering a curation APR: 8%).
On Hive I have always had a medium to long term view and I consider the current value of HIVE to be highly underestimated (this is not financial advice but my personal opinion).
That is why I am not interested in selling HIVE tokens in exchange for FIAT currency, and it is for the same reason that in three and a half years I have never done a Power Down and my main goal is to increase the amount of Hive Power (HP) in my possession.
I like to set growth goals on projects I like and in which I see potential. In early January 2022, I set an annual growth goal on Hive: to reach an amount of 30000 HP by 31 December 2022.
The Hive blockchain has 2 tokens of currency:
- HIVE
- Hive Backed Dollars (HBD)
Hive also has a token that measures a user's influence within the blockchain:
- Hive Power (HP) = HIVE staked
The difference between HIVE, HP, and HBD is explained very well in the FAQ at https://hive.blog (image below)
In order to reach my annual goal my Hive wallet will have to have a total value (HP+HBD+HIVE) of 30000 HIVE by the end of the year, a value which I will fully convert into Hive Power by 31 December 2022.
Today 1 October 2022 my Hive wallet contains: 650,1970 liquid HIVE, 26791,4770 HP, 42,1120 liquid HBD and 723,5660 HBD in Savings.
The value in HIVE of the 765.6780 HBD in my possession is 1558.7907 HIVE.
If I add the total value of HIVE tokens and HP tokens to the above value, I can calculate the total HIVE value of my wallet: 29000.465 HIVE = $14031.3528.
In one month (1 September 2022 - 1 October 2022) I increased the total HIVE value of my wallet by +2.55% = +720.08 HIVE.
In the image below you can see the table I created to monitor my monthly progress toward my final annual goal (30k HP) updated to today's date. Setting a goal is the first step towards achieving it and dividing a goal of longer duration into goals of smaller duration is a functional and useful way to keep my motivation high.
I have divided my annual goal into intermediate goals of monthly duration that will be smaller or larger depending on the result of the previous month.
This past month was for the second time in a row a positive month for the achievement of my annual goal because I exceeded my monthly intermediate goal for the month of September by +290.18 HIVE in value. Thanks to this monthly result in October I will have an easier monthly goal to reach: 333.18 HIVE of value.
To reach 30000 HP before the end of the current year, I still have to accumulate 999.54 HIVE in a time frame of 3 months.
On the Hive blockchain, there are so many activities you can do:
- publishing content,
- curation activities
- investments in Diesel Pools (DeFi)
- interaction activities
- gaming
- trading in tokens and NFTs
- ...
One of the secondary goals that I have been trying to achieve for many months is to publish at least one post per day in a one-month interval. Even in September, I did not achieve this goal but still increased the total number of published posts compared to my previous report:
- August: 10 published posts
- September: 16 published posts

- Total Number of Posts Goal: 1400 - Published Posts: 1241 (+16 posts in the month of September)
Last month I achieved a goal I had set myself a long time ago: get into the top 500 of Hive users with the most HP.
With 26791 HP I'm in place number 488 but now the goal is to get into the top 400.
Power Up!
On Hive every first of the month is Power Up Day and doing power up is in my opinion the best way to start the month on Hive. The Power Up I did today is 150 HIVE -> 150 HP.

September was a very positive month, and the goal of 30000 HP, which at the beginning of the year seemed like a difficult target to reach, is now a goal that I think I can reach quite easily if I don't decrease my posting and interaction activity on Hive.
My intention for September is mainly to increase my interaction activity and so I will try to read more posts and try to comment more than I did in September.
I will also try to publish more content, and who knows, maybe October will be the month when I will be able to publish a post a day....
As is now a consolidated habit in the conclusion of my monthly reports regarding my growth goals on Hive, I want to thank all the people who support me and who read and comment on my posts because they give me an incentive to write content and above all because they dedicate their time to me and time is absolutely the most precious commodity we all have.

Important note
Oggi è il 1 ottobre 2022 e sono esattamente 1306 giorni, poco più di tre anni e mezzo, che sono un utente di Hive. Se Splinterlands è il mio gioco basato su blockchain preferito Hive è senza ombra di dubbio il mio progetto blockchain preferito e non è assolutamente un caso che la casa di Splinterlands sia proprio Hive. Come appassionato di giochi basati su blockchain penso che Hive sia l'ambiente ideale per lo sviluppo di giochi basati su blockchain perchè Hive ha tante utilità, è veloce e non ha costi di transazione in termini di dollari ma solo di Resource Credits.
Immaginate per un attimo un giocatore di Fortnite o di Hearthstone che non ha mai interagito con una blockchain e decide di provare a giocare ad un gioco basato su NFT costruito su Ethereum come ad esempio Axie Infinity:
- deve aprire un wallet, Metamask ad esempio, e poi deve capirne il funzionamento
- deve capire come acquistare degli ETH e poi deve acquistarli (probabilmente da un CEX)
- ogni volta che deve effettuare una transazione come ad esempio trasferire gli ETH dal CEX al suo wallet deve pagare dei costi di transazione che possono essere molto alti.
- ogni volta che deve trasferire o acquistare un NFT deve preliminarmente calcolare i costi di transazione e per pagare meno deve necessariamente imparare ad utilizzare tools per scoprire quando la rete è meno congestionata.
- infine deve capire il funzionamento del gioco a cui vuole giocare...
Quanti giocatori secondo voi abbandoneranno in uno dei passi iniziali?
Secondo me molti.
Adesso immaginate lo stesso giocatore di Fortnite o Heartstone che vuole provare a giocare ad un gioco Hive-based e si registra su Hive:
- può registrarsi in modo totalmente gratuito su Hive tramite Hive On Board o tramite Leofinance Se si registra da Leofinance riceverà una delega temporanea di 10 HP con i quali potrà fin da subito effettuare molte operazioni sulla blockchain di Hive a costo 0.
- può installare Hive Keychain nel quale deve inserire le keys una volta sola e poi potrà registrarsi e fare il login al suo gioco preferito e potrà utilizzare tutte le applicazioni di Hive ogni volta che vuole e con una sola password e un solo click.
C'è una bella differenza vero? Quale percorso ha meno difficoltà?
- Inoltre un nuovo utente di Hive può iniziare a pubblicare contenuti e a interagire con gli altri utenti di Hive. Se i contenuti pubblicati piaceranno agli altri utenti di Hive potrà, dopo sette giorni dalla pubblicazione, iniziare a guadagnare i primi HP e i suoi primi RC senza aver investito nulla inizialmente se non il proprio tempo.
- Inoltre se un nuovo utente ha difficoltà iniziali troverà già su Hive tanti post e tanti tutorials con consigli su come fare i primi passi su Hive e se chiederà aiuto agli altri utenti di Hive più esperti riceverà sicuramente aiuto e disponibilità come è successo a me quando ero un nuovo utente.
Su Hive se voglio trasferire un token il trasferimento è immediato e mi costa 0$. Su Hive se voglio trasferire un NFT di Splinterlands il trasferimento è immediato e mi costa 0$.
Quanti progetti blockchain hanno costi di transazione = 0$?
Hive è un grande ecosistema di app, siti e comunità e sono molto contento che il numero dei progetti sviluppati o in via di sviluppo su Hive sia in continuo aumento perchè ogni nuovo progetto creato su Hive aggiunge valore ad Hive e contribuisce alla sua promozione e al suo sviluppo e dall'altra parte Hive aggiunge valore ad ogni progetto costruito su di essa.
Inoltre lo sviluppo delle applicazioni basate su Hive sarà molto più semplice in futuro perchè @blocktrades sta lavorando allo sviluppo e al testing dell'Hive Application Framework (HAF) che dovrebbe semplificare enormemente lo sviluppo di applicazioni sulla blockchain di Hive e secondo me farà aumentare ancora di più il numero delle applicazioni Hive-based.
Perchè sarà così importante l'introduzione dell'HAF?**
La risposta è semplice ed è evidente guardando il grafico nell'immagine seguente.
Quando sarà introdotto l'HAF anche il programmatore che non ha esperienza nello sviluppo di programmi basati su blockchain potrà sviluppare in modo molto semplificato un applicazione Hive-based perchè:
- potrà utilizzare il linguaggio di programmazione che preferisce (C++, Java, ...)
- dovrà conoscere soltanto il famoso e diffuso linguaggio SQL per utilizzare il framework HAF e quindi per interfacciarsi con la blockchain di Hive.
Questo secondo me sarà un grande passo in avanti per Hive e per tutto il suo ecosistema.
Il mese di ottobre sarà un mese decisamente interessante per Hive perchè ci sarà l'Hard Fork numero 26 (data pianificata 11 ottobre 2022) che apporterà interessanti modifiche come ad esempio la possibilità di delegare in modo separato Hive Power (HP) e Resource Credits (RC) che adesso sono collegati tra di loro e inseparabili.

Per quanto riguarda il valore del token HIVE, oggi 1 HIVE ha un valore di 0.483832$
Esattamente un anno fa (2 ottobre 2022) 1 HIVE valeva 0.640101$ e quindi in un intervallo di tempo di un anno la diminuzione di valore è del -24.41%.
Siamo in pieno Bear Market e questa dimunuzione di valore va contestualizzata all'attuale situazione di mercato e soprattutto è evidente che Hive sta reggendo davvero bene gli effetti negativi del Bear Market.
Infatti se confronti la variazione di valore in un intervallo di un anno dei token BTC e ETH e dei token di altri due progetti blockchain DPOS (STEEM e WAX) puoi vedere che il token HIVE è il token che ha perso meno valore.
Infatti chi il 2 ottobre 2021 ha investito in BTC ha perso il 59.98% del suo investimento iniziale. Chi ha investito in ETH ha perso il 59.99% del suo investimento iniziale Chi ha investito in WAX ha perso il 68.21% del suo investimento iniziale Chi ha investito in STEEM ha perso il 56.87% del suo investimento iniziale Chi ha investito in HIVE ha perso solo il 24.41% del suo investimento iniziale ma se ha utilizzato i suoi HIVE per fare Power UP e ha utilizzato il suo HP per l'attività di curation ha con molta probabilità perso solo il 16.41% (considerando un curation APR: 8%).
Su Hive ho sempre avuto una visione di medio-lungo termine e considero il valore attuale di HIVE altamente sottostimato (non è un consiglio finanziario ma la mia personale opinione). Per questo motivo non mi interessa vendere i token HIVE in cambio di moneta FIAT ed è per lo stesso motivo che in tre anni e mezzo non ho mai fatto un Power Down e il mio obiettivo principale è di aumentare il quantitativo di Hive Power (HP) in mio possesso.
Mi piace fissare degli obiettivi di crescita sui progetti che mi piacciono e in cui vedo del potenziale. Agli inizi di gennaio 2022 ho fissato un obiettivo annuale di crescita su Hive: raggiungere un quantitativo di 30000 HP entro il 31 dicembre 2022.

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere la tabella che ho creato per monitorare i miei progressi mensili verso il mio obiettivo finale annuale (30k HP) aggiornata alla data odierna. Porsi un obiettivo è il primo passo verso il suo raggiungimento e dividere un obiettivo di durata maggiore in obiettivi di durata più piccola è un modo funzionale e utile per mantenere alta la mia motivazione.
Ho diviso il mio obiettivo annuale in obiettivi intermedi di durata mensile che saranno più piccoli o più grandi in base al risultato del mese precedente.
Il mese appena trascorso è stato per la seconda volta consecutivo un mese positivo per il raggiungimento del mio obiettivo annuale perchè ho superato l'obiettivo intermendio mensile del mese di settembre di +290.18 HIVE di valore. Grazie a questo risultato mensile nel mese di ottobre avrò un obiettivo mensile più facile da raggiungere: 333.18 HIVE di valore.
Per raggiungere 30000 HP prima della fine dell'anno in corso devo accumulare ancora 999.54 HIVE in un tempo utile di 3 mesi.
Sulla blockchain di Hive sono davvero tante le attività che è possibile fare:
- pubblicazione di contenuti,
- attività di curation
- investimenti nelle Diesel Pools (DeFi)
- attività di interazione
- gaming
- trading su tokens e NFTs
- ...
Uno degli obiettivi secondari che cerco di raggiungere da molti mesi è quello di pubblicare almeno un post al giorno in un intervallo di tempo di un mese. Anche nel mese di settembre non ho raggiunto questo obiettivo ma ho comunque aumentato il numero totale di post pubblicati:
- Agosto: 10 post pubblicati
- Settembre: 16 post pubblicati

Power Up!
Su Hive ogni primo del mese è il Power Up Day e fare power up è secondo me il miglior modo per iniziare il mese su Hive. Il Power Up che ho fatto oggi è di 150 HIVE -> 150 HP.
Se vuoi partecipare anche tu sei ancora in tempo perchè manca ancora 1 ora e 9 minuti prima della fine del Power Up Day del mese di ottobre ;)
Il mese di settembre è stato un mese molto positivo e l'obiettivo di 30000 HP che all'inizio dell'anno mi sembrava un obiettivo difficile da raggiungere adesso è un obiettivo che credo di riuscire a raggiungere abbastanza agevolmente sepre se non diminuirò la mia attività di pubblicazione e interazione su Hive.
Il mio proposito per il mese di settembre è principalmente quello di incrementare la mia attività di interazione e quindi cercherò di leggere più post e cercherò commentare di più rispetto al mese di settembre.
Cercherò anche di pubblicare più contenuti e chissà che non sia proprio il mese di ottobre il mese in cui riuscirò a pubblicare un post al giorno...
Come è ormai una consuetudine consolidata nella conclusione dei miei report mensili relativi ai miei obiettivi di crescita su Hive, voglio ringraziare tutte le persone che mi supportano e che leggono e commentano i miei post perchè mi incentivano a scrivere contenuti e soprattutto perchè mi dedicano il loro tempo e il tempo è in assoluto il bene più prezioso che tutti noi abbiamo.
