Hello friends, It's been just over two months since I joined the dCity game.

Every month I do some calculations and write a report to evaluate dCity exclusively from an economic point of view.

So here we are on my second monthly report on dCity.

This report can be useful for those who are thinking of registering on dCity and want to have an idea about a possible investment path to follow.

If this is the first time you've heard about dCity I'll briefly explain what it is.

What's dCity?

dCity is a simulation game that allows you to create and govern a virtual city. The city has your name and you have to work to make your city prosper.

Valuation of dCity as an investment

In order to evaluate an investment it is necessary to consider the total cost of the investment and the revenues produced by such investment.

Total Investment Cost

So far, August 29th, 2020, I have invested a total of **861,349 HIVE** in dCity.

*** With **861,349 HIVE** I purchased **251 cards**. In the following picture there is my city and each colored dot identifies a specific card or a group of cards (the biggest dots). ***

Value of my Card Collection

The value of my card collection is indicated in the DASHBOARD section of dCity.

*** **It is an estimated value** as it is the result of the market prices of the cards in my possession. The value is **137K SIM** (dCity NFT)

The HIVE value of 137K SIM (Highest Bid on Hive Engine) is: 639.71 HIVE (July 22, 2020).

Value of Rewards
*** In the dCity game there are two types of **Rewards (REWARDS)**: - **SIM tokens** - **HIVE reward pool** *** ###
SIM tokens
*** I earn SIM tokens every day based on the income my city produces.

My city's income is 891 SIM per day.

*** **891 SIM** are the equivalent of **4,16097 HIVE**. ***

HIVE reward pool

On dCity there is a ranking based on the number of inhabitants of each city (Population).

To view the ranking you have to click on RANKING as indicated by the arrow in the next picture:

*** The top **300 players** in the ranking receive **1% of the Reward Pool**. ***

*** A recent update has reduced the percentage by **0.5% (1.5% -> 1%)**. ***

Currently my city has a population of 1184 inhabitants.

The population of my city allows me to position myself in the number 190 ranking of dCity and the last award I received was 0.269 HIVE (Last month I received 0.476 HIVE).

*** To calculate the profit I consider the **revenues** as the sum of the following items: - Value of my card collection on the market (**estimated value: 639.79 HIVE**) - Total Token SIM accumulated and not reinvested (**2654**) - Total Token SIM sold and converted to HIVE on Hive Engine. - Total HIVE obtained from the ranking and not coated (**28.29 HIVE**) - Total BEER Token obtained from the Brewery card in my possession (**2,569 BEER**) - Total Token WEED obtained from Weed Farm cards in my possession (**20,253 WEED**)

The costs are given by a single item:

  • Total investment value (861,349 HIVE)

Final Considerations

**Dcity is a good investment?**

If we consider the results calculated above certainly is a good investment at least at the moment. Compared to last month I had a reduction in Profit due partly to the increase in my investment in dCity and partly to the slight impairment of the SIM tokens.

But

However, important considerations must be made:

  • The value of my city on dCity is an estimated value. If on the dCity market there was the possibility to make offers BID you could determine a precise and immediately monetizable value of the various cards in my possession. My city is worth 639.71 HIVE if I can sell all my cards at market prices. In reality some cards are easy to sell and others less.

  • There are many factors to take into consideration:

    • the future development of the value of SIM tokens
    • the number of players who will join dCity in the future
    • the future value of cards on the market...
    • the future value of HIVE

dCity more than a game is an investment and primarily as such must be treated. In every type of investment there is always a risk factor to evaluate and consider.

Important Note: My report is in no way an invitation to invest in dCity but is only an analysis of my personal investment on 29 August 2020.
