Hello friends, on June 19, 2020 I started my adventure on dCity and so it's been just over four months since I joined the game (precisely 4 months and 2 days).

In this post I will do some calculations to determine the profit and the Roi that I got after four months and to answer the question:

Is dCity a good investment?

Let's discover it together but first I briefly introduce the dCity game for those who don't know it.

What's dCity?

dCity is a simulation game that allows you to create and govern a virtual city. The city has your name and you have to work to make your city prosper.

Valuation of dCity as an investment

In general to evaluate an investment you should always consider:

  • the total cost of the investment
  • the revenues generated by the investment.

Total Investment Cost

To date, October 21, 2020, I have invested a total of **956.98 HIVE** in dCity.

*** With **956.98 HIVE** I created my virtual city that consists of a total of **364 cards**. In the following image there is my city and each colored circle identifies a specific card or a group of cards (the biggest circles). ***

*** To purchase the cards I used only initially the **BUY** section of dCity ***

Value of my Card Collection

To determine the value of my card collection I compare two values:

  • the value indicated in the DASHBOARD section of dCity
  • the value indicated in the DCITY STATS section that corresponds to the Market Value section of the following link: https://hivedata.space/statistics/dcity?s=city&user=libertycrypto27

Because both values are approximate and estimated I consider the lower value between the two (DCITY STATS).

As you can see from the next image the value of my city is 195K SIM (October 20, 2020). image.png

It is an estimated value and is the result of the market prices of the cards in my possession.

The HIVE value of 195K SIM (Highest Bid on Hive Engine) is: 930.15 HIVE (October 20, 2020).

Value of Rewards

In the dCity game there are two types of Rewards (REWARDS):

  • SIM tokens
  • HIVE reward pool

SIM tokens

My city produces a certain amount of SIM every day that is the result of the sum of the INCOME attribute of all my cards. From this value then you have to subtract the taxes.

My city produces 1131 SIM per day.

HIVE reward pool

On dCity there is a ranking based on the number of inhabitants of each city (Population).

To view the ranking you have to click on RANKING as indicated by the arrow in the next picture:

Currently my city has a population of 1381 inhabitants.

The population of my city allows me to position myself at number 255 on the dCity ranking and the last award I received was 0.144 HIVE.

To calculate the profit I consider the revenues as the sum of the following items:

  • Value of my card collection on the market (estimated value: 930.15 HIVE)
  • Total Token SIM accumulated and not reinvested (13466 SIM)
  • Total Token SIM sold on Hive Engine (324.3513 HIVE).
  • Total HIVE obtained from the ranking (37,889 HIVE)
  • Total BEER Token obtained from the Brewery card in my possession (3,058 BEER)
  • Total Token WEED obtained from Weed Farm cards in my possession (28,315 WEED)

Total Costs

The costs are given by a single item:

  • Total value of my investment (956.98 HIVE)

Final Considerations

Dcity is a good investment?

If we consider the results calculated above, it is certainly an excellent investment. In four months I made a profit of $57.6 and a ROI of 42.41%. Really good results and I am really satisfied and happy to have chosen to invest in dCity.

But

However, important considerations must be made:

  • The value of my city on dCity is an estimated value. If on the dCity market there was the possibility to make offers BID I could determine a precise and immediately monetizable value of the various cards in my possession. My city is worth 930.15 HIVE if I can sell all my cards at market prices. In reality some cards are easy to sell and others less.

  • There are many factors to take into consideration:

    • the future development of the value of SIM tokens
    • the number of players who will join dCity in the future
    • the future value of cards on the market...
    • the future value of HIVE

My current strategy

In four months my strategy on dCity has changed several times because the game has also had updates and evolutions. My main goal is the following:

  • to reach the Breakeven point. This is my main goal and I don't miss it very much. To check the progress of my goal I use a very good and useful tool made by the good user @bala41288

Until I reach the breakeven point I will invest in the purchase of the cards as much as necessary and I will do it only to balance the number of available jobs with the citizens of my city. When I reach my goal I will invest 50%/60% of SIM production in the purchase of cards to expand my city. *** ###

**dCity more than a game is an investment and mainly as such must be treated**.
In every type of investment there is always a **risk factor** to evaluate and consider.

Ciao amici, il 19 giugno 2020 ho iniziato la mia avventura su dCity e quindi sono trascorsi poco più di quattro mesi da quando mi sono iscritto al gioco (precisamente 4 mesi e 2 giorni).

In questo post farò un po di calcoli per determinare il profitto e il Roi che ho ottenuto dopo quattro mesi e per rispondere alla domanda:

dCity è un buon investimento?

Scopriamolo insieme ma prima introduco brevemente il gioco dCity per chi non lo conosce.

Cos'è dCity?

dCity è un gioco di simulazione che ti permette di creare e governare una città virtuale. La città ha il tuo nome e tu devi impegnarti per far prosperare la tua città.

Valutazione di dCity come investimento

In generale per valutare un investimento bisogna sempre considerare:

  • il costo totale dell'investimento
  • i ricavi prodotti dall'investimento.

Costo Totale Investimento

Fino ad oggi, 21 Ottobre 2020, ho investito un totale di **956.98 HIVE** su dCity.

Valore della mia Collezione di Carte

Per determinare il valore della mia collezione di carte confronto due valori:

  • il valore indicato nella sezione DASHBOARD di dCity
  • il valore indicato nella sezione DCITY STATS che corrisponde alla sezione Market Value del seguente link: https://hivedata.space/statistics/dcity?s=city&user=libertycrypto27

Poichè entrambi i valori sono approssimati e stimati considero il valore minore tra i due (DCITY STATS).

Come puoi vedere dall'immagine successiva il valore della mia città è di 195K SIM (20 Ottobre 2020). image.png

E' un valore stimato poichè è il risultato dei prezzi di mercato delle carte in mio possesso.

Il valore in HIVE di 195K SIM (Highest Bid su Hive Engine) è di: 930.15 HIVE (20 Ottobre 2020).

Valore delle Ricompense

Nel gioco di dCity ci sono due tipi di Ricompense (REWARDS):

  • SIM tokens
  • HIVE reward pool

SIM tokens

La mia città produce ogni giorno un certo quantitativo di SIM che è il risultato della somma dell'attributo INCOME di tutte le mie carte. Da questo valore poi bisogna sottrarre le tasse.

La mia città produce 1131 SIM al giorno.

Su dCity c'è una classifica basata sul numero di abitanti di ogni città (Population).

Per visualizzare la Classifica devi cliccare sulla scritta RANKING come indicato dalla freccia nell'immagine successiva:

Per calcolare il profitto considero i ricavi come la somma delle seguenti voci:

  • Valore della mia collezione di carte sul mercato (valore stimato: 930.15 HIVE)

  • Totale Token SIM venduti su Hive Engine (324.3513).
  • Totale degli HIVE ottenuti dalla Classifica (37.889 HIVE)

Considerazioni Finali

Dcity è un buon investimento?

Se consideriamo i risultati sopra calcolati certamente si è un ottimo investimento. In quattro mesi ho realizzato un profitto di 57.6 $ e un ROI del 42.41% Risultati davvero ottimi e sono davvero soddisfatto e felice di aver scelto di investire su dCity.

Ma

Bisogna comunque fare delle considerazioni importanti:

  • Il valore della mia città su dCity è un valore stimato. Se sul mercato di dCity ci fosse la possibilità di effettuare offerte BID si potrebbe determinare un valore preciso e immediatamente monetizzabile delle varie carte in mio possesso. La mia città vale 930.15 HIVE nel caso riuscissi a vendere tutte le mie carte ai prezzi di mercato. In realtà alcune carte sono facili da vendere e altre meno.

  • Ci sono tanti fattori da prendere in considerazione:

    • l'andamento futuro del valore dei SIM tokens
    • il numero dei giocatori che in futuro si iscriveranno a dCity
    • il valore futuro delle carte sul mercato...
    • il valore futuro di HIVE

La mia strategia attuale

In quattro mesi la mia strategia su dCity è cambiata diverse volte perchè anche il gioco ha avuto aggiornamenti ed evoluzioni. Il mio obbiettivo principale è il seguente:

  • raggiungere il punto di Breakeven. Questo è il mio obbiettivo principale e non mi manca molto. Per controllare lo stato di avanzamento del mio obbiettivo utilizzo un ottimo e utile tool realizzato dal bravo utente @bala41288 image.png Come puoi vedere dall'immagine in alto il mio obbiettivo è molto vicino e penso di raggiungerlo entro due mesi. Fino a quando non raggiungerò il punto di breakeven investirò nell'acquisto delle carte lo stretto necessario e lo farò solo per bilanciare il numero dei posti di lavoro disponibili con i cittadini della mia città. Quando avrò raggiunto il mio obbiettivo investirò il 50%/60% della produzione di SIM nell'acquisto di carte per espandere la mia città.

Nota Importante:

**dCity più che un gioco è un investimento e principalmente come tale deve essere trattato**.
In ogni tipologia di investimento c'è sempre un **fattore di rischio** da valutare e considerare.

Il mio report non vuole essere in alcun modo un invito ad investire su dCity ma è solo l'analisi del mio personale investimento in data 21 Ottobre 2020.
