I like blockchain based games and I have tried, invested and played several blockchain based games. I have a natural liking and preference for games built and developed on the Hive blockchain and Dcrops is one of the last games I decided to play and invest in.
The player of Dcrops plays the role of a farming entrepreneur, he has to buy one or more pieces of land, he has to plant the seeds, he has to wait for the seeds to become plants and produce their fruits and finally he can harvest and sell the agricultural products produced.

In the Dcrops game, time is marked by seasons that last 15 days and are the same as in real life: spring, summer, fall, winter.
Yesterday, 10 November 2021, in the Dcrops game, the spring season ended and the summer season began.
With the conclusion of the spring season also came the time to write and share my usual end of season report in which I do some calculations and evaluate my investment on Dcrops.
By the way yesterday I received a comment on a post about Dcrops game that I wrote and published about 3 months ago. The comment is from @halbtagsdichter who wrote to me:
Hi @libertycrypto27, I'm thinking about investing a couple of bucks into dcrops and buying land and seeds from the market, as the packs are sold out, but it seems, as the dcrops community is mute on Hive. Can you help in deciding, if dcrops is still a valid investment/game experience, or is it a dead game by now? Thanks in advance.
Obviously I have responded to the comment but I hope that this post of mine can give further insight to @halbtagsdicher and those who are considering starting the adventure of being a farmer within the Dcrops game.
In the final part of his comment @halbtagsdicher asks me:
Can you help in deciding, if dcrops is still a valid investment/game experience, or is it a dead game by now?
Unfortunately I can't say that Dcrops will be a valid investment because I don't have the ability to predict the future (unfortunately :) but I can say with certainty that Dcrops is a healthy project/game/investment because:
- Alpha card packs have all been sold for $2. Whoever wants to buy a pack of cards today can only do so from external markets and the cost has tripled: 6$.
- active players are constantly increasing.
The importance of the number of active players
One of the elements I often look at that is of fundamental importance to any blockchain-based game is the number of active players. In the Dcrops game, active players are those players who use LAND and SEED cards during a season and get SHARE points that allow them to receive CROP tokens (the native tokens of the Dcrops game). On 27 August 2021 the active players were 194 as you can see from the screenshot I took of the Dcrops Leaderboard on 27 August.
I took the screenshot of the Dcrops Leaderboard 3 hours before the spring ended (10 November 2021) and as you can see from the following image the active players in the just ended Dcrops season were 727.
In just over 60 days the number of active players has increased by 533. The management of my investment on Dcrops is a dynamic management and if I notice in the future a reduction in the number of active players I will consider selling CROP cards and tokens to limit the risk but for the moment the signs are very positive.
My investment strategy
The investment strategy I decided to follow on Dcrops is more or less the same strategy I follow in other farming games and is divided into three phases:
- First Phase: I set a maximum budget and invest all my budget.
- Second Phase: I reach the Breakeven point
- Third Phase: I invest lightly ;)
In the game of Dcrops I am in the first phase:
- i have set a maximum investment budget of 200 HIVE
- i have invested 156.57 HIVE so far
The value of my card collection
My card collection consists of 196 cards (NFT):
- 18 LAND cards
- 175 SEED cards
I built a simple table with my spreadsheet to calculate the value of my card collection based on the market value. For each card in my possession, I have considered the lowest purchase price on the Dcrops market yesterday, 10 November. As you can see from the calculations in the table in the image below, my card collection has a value of 545.85 SWAP.HIVE.
The value of 545.85 SWAP.HIVE is, however, an estimate because it assumes that I can sell all the cards for the lowest price on the market. In reality, some cards, such as legendary cards, have very high prices, perhaps too high in relation to their playing characteristics, so I can't be sure that I will be able to sell them at that price, at least not in the short term.
With my investment of 156.57 HIVE I bought:
- single cards from the Dcrops marketplace
- 34 packs of cards from the Shop section of the Dcrops website.
Of the packs of cards I bought I decided not to open 20 packs of cards.
Today it is not possible to buy card packs from the Dcrops website because they are sold out and have been for several days. You can only buy card packs from external markets such as Hive Engine or Tribal Dex. On Hive Engine a card pack from Dcrops is a second level token from Hive and is called DCALPHA and has a value of 7.5 SWAP.HIVE = $6.04 (Lowest Ask). The Best Offer to Purchase (BID) is 5.85 SWAP.HIVE.
The total value of the packs of cards I bought but did not open is 150 SWAP.HIVE = $120.9
The Rewards
In the game of Dcrops there are three reward mechanisms:
- Leaderboard
- Holding Rewards
- Quests
For example, in the season that just ended (spring), I sold all the crops I harvested and got a total of 1240 SHARE points, which put me in 99th place on the Leaderboard and earned me 878.06 CROP tokens as a reward.
Today November 11, 2021 the value of 1 CROP token is 0.00380 HIVE (Highest BID on Hive Engine: https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=CROP).
Based on the current value of the CROP tokens the value of my end of season reward is 3.33 HIVE.
Holding Rewards
The Holding Rewards section is a leaderboard that rewards players based on CROP POWER which is a score assigned to each player that depends on the type and amount of in-game assets the player owns. The requirement to receive rewards from the Holding Rewards leaderboard is to exceed a CROP POWER score of 20000 points. The rewards are daily and are in HIVE tokens.
My current CROP POWER score is 43241.98 points.
CROP POWER is the main reason why I decided not to open 20 packs of cards. In fact, most of my CROP POWER score comes from my 20 card packs: 20 packs of cards = 40000 CROP POWER.
So far I have received a total of 5.09 HIVE from the Holding Rewards ranking.

The Quests
Quests are Dcrops' third mechanism for rewarding its players. The first version of the Quests was introduced in the winter season but in the spring season the Quests were modified and made simpler.
In the following picture you can see the seven quests I completed in the spring season.
In the following picture you can see what I found inside the 10 chests that I received as a reward for completing the Quests.
These cards will allow me to increase or speed up my seasonal production and this season I will try to use them.
The CROP tokens
CROP tokens are the native tokens of the Dcrops game and are second level tokens of the Hive blockchain.
In my in-game wallet I have a total of 3469,932 CROP tokens.
3469,932 CROP tokens have a value of 13.18 HIVE.
Valuation of my investment on Dcrops
Profit, Roi and Considerations
To date I have invested 156.57 HIVE in the game of Dcrops: The total value of my card collection is 545.85 HIVE. The total value of the 20 packs of cards I bought but did not open is 150 HIVE. The value of the CROP tokens in my wallet is 13.18 HIVE.
I therefore have all the data to be able to calculate the Profit and ROI of my investment in Dcrops.
I started investing in the game of Dcrops in the last days of May 2021 when the second season of the game started (the first summer).
In about 5 and a half months I got a profit of 552.46 HIVE against an investment of 156.57 HIVE.
The ROI is +352.85%.
I am very satisfied with the financial result of my investment in Dcrops.
But whoever signs up today, what results can they expect to achieve?
If you sign up on Dcrops today, you will need to invest 695.85 HIVE to get the same assets as me.
Considering only the rewards received in the last season ended my seasonal ROI (15 days) was 3.136% while my estimated annual ROI is 75.26%.
Someone who starts today and buys the same cards as me and buys 20 packs of cards will naturally have a lower ROI than me.
An ROI of +0.706% in 15 days is still a good ROI.
Conclusion
I hope with this post I have helped @halbtagsdicher as well as those interested in the game of Dcrops to have more elements to decide whether or not to invest in the game of Dcrops.
For me Dcrops turned out to be a very good investment but the choice to invest must obviously be personal and after having made all the due considerations and personal evaluations.

Dcrops è un buon investimento?
Il giocatore di Dcrops riveste il ruolo di un imprenditore agricolo, deve comprare uno o più terreni, deve piantare i semi, deve aspettare che i semi diventino piante e producano i loro frutti e infine può effettuare il raccolto e vendere i prodotti agricoli prodotti.

Nel gioco di Dcrops il tempo è scandito dalle stagioni che hanno una durata di 15 giorni e sono le stesse della vita reale: primavera, estate, autunno, inverno.
Ieri 10 novembre 2021, nel gioco di Dcrops, è terminata la stagione primaverile ed è iniziata la stagione estiva.
Con la conclusione della stagione primaverile è arrivato anche il momento di scrivere e condividere il mio abituale report di fine stagione in cui faccio alcuni calcoli e valuto il mio investimento su Dcrops.
Tra l'altro ieri ho ricevuto un commento su un post inerente al gioco di Dcrops che ho scritto e pubblicato circa 3 mesi fa. Il commento è di @halbtagsdichter che mi ha scritto:

Ovviamente ho risposto al commento ma spero che questo mio post potrà dare ulteriori elementi di valutazione a @halbtagsdicher e a chi sta valutando la possibilità di iniziare l'avventura di imprenditore agricolo all'interno del gioco di Dcrops.
Nella parte finale del suo commento @halbtagsdicher mi chiede:

Purtroppo non posso affermare che Dcrops sarà un valido investimento perchè non ho la capacità di predire il futuro (purtroppo :) però posso con certezza affermare che Dcrops è un progetto/gioco/investimento in piena salute perchè:
- i pacchi di carte Alpha sono stati tutti venduti al prezzo di 2$ Chi vuole comprare oggi un pacco di carte può farlo solo dai mercati esterni e il costo è triplicato: 6$
- i giocatori attivi sono in costante aumento.
L'importanza del numero dei giocatori attivi
Uno degli elementi che guardo spesso e che è di fondamentale importanza per ogni gioco basato su blockchain è proprio il numero dei giocatori attivi. Nel gioco di Dcrops i giocatori attivi sono i giocatori che durante una stagione utilizzano le carte LAND e SEED e ottengono punti SHARE che permettono di ricevere i token CROP (i token nativi del gioco di Dcrops). Il 27 agosto 2021 i giocatori attivi erano 194 come puoi vedere dallo screenshot che ho fatto alla Leaderboard di Dcrops proprio il 27 agosto.
Ho fatto lo screenshot della Leaderboard di Dcrops 3 ore prima che terminasse la primavera (10 novembre 2021) e come puoi vedere dall'immagine seguente i giocatori attivi nella stagione di Dcrops appena conclusa sono stati 727
In poco più di 60 giorni i giocatori attivi sono aumentati di 533 unità. La gestione del mio investimento su Dcrops è una gestione dinamica e se dovessi notare in futuro una riduzione del numero di giocatori attivi valuterò la possibilità di vendere carte e token CROP per limitare il rischio ma per il momento i segnali sono molto positivi.
La mia strategia di investimento
La strategia di investimento che ho deciso di seguire su Dcrops è più o meno la stessa strategia che seguo in altri giochi di farming e si divide in tre fasi:
- Prima Fase: fisso un budget massimo e investo tutto il mio budget
- Seconda Fase: raggiungo il punto di Pareggio
- Terza Fase: investo a cuor leggero ;)
Nel gioco di Dcrops sono nella prima fase:
- ho fissato un budget di investimento massimo di 200 HIVE
- ho investito fino ad ora 156.57 HIVE
Il valore della mia collezione di carte
La mia collezione di carte è composta da 196 carte (NFT):
- 18 carte LAND
- 175 carte SEED
Ho costruito una semplice tabella con il mio foglio di calcolo per calcolare il valore della mia collezione di carta in base al valore di mercato. Per ogni carta in mio possesso ho considerato il prezzo d'acquisto più basso presente ieri 10 novembre sul mercato di Dcrops. Come puoi vedere dai calcoli presenti nella tabella nell'immagine seguente, la mia collezione di carte ha un valore di 545.85 SWAP.HIVE.
Il valore di 545.85 SWAP.HIVE è però un valore stimato perchè presuppone che io riesca a vendere tutte le carte al prezzo più basso presente sul mercato. In realtà alcune carte, ad esempio le carte leggendarie, hanno prezzi molto alti, forse troppo in relazione alle loro caratteristiche di gioco e quindi non ho la certezza che riuscirei a venderle a quel prezzo almeno non nel breve periodo.
Con il mio investimento di 156.57 HIVE ho comprato:
- carte singole dal mercato di Dcrops
- 34 pacchi di carte dalla sezione Shop del sito di Dcrops.
Dei pacchi di carte che ho comprato ho deciso di non aprire 20 pacchi di carte.
Oggi non è possibile acquistare i pacchi di carte dal sito di Dcrops perchè sono esauriti e già da diversi giorni. E' possibile acquistare i pacchi di carte solo dai mercati esterni come Hive Engine o Tribal Dex. Su Hive Engine un pacco di carte di Dcrops è un token di secondo livello di Hive e si chiama DCALPHA e ha un valore di 7.5 SWAP.HIVE = 6.04$ (Lowest Ask). La migliore offerta di acquisto (BID) è invece di 5.85 SWAP.HIVE
Il valore totale dei pacchi di carte che ho acquistato ma che non ho aperto è di 150 SWAP.HIVE = 120.9$
Le Ricompense
Nel gioco di Dcrops ci sono tre meccanismi di ricompense:
- Leaderboard
- Holding Rewards
- Quests
Ad esempio nella stagione appena conclusa (primavera) ho venduto tutti i prodotti agricoli che ho raccolto e ho ottenuto un totale di 1240 punti SHARE che mi hanno permesso di posizionarmi al 99° posto nella Leaderboard e di ottenere 878.06 token CROP come ricompensa.
Oggi 11 novembre 2021 il valore di 1 token CROP è di 0.00380 HIVE (Highest BID su Hive Engine: https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=CROP).
In base al valore attuale dei token CROP il valore della mia ricompensa di fine stagione è di 3.33 HIVE.
Holding Rewards
La sezione Holding Rewards è una classifica che premia i giocatori in base al CROP POWER che è un punteggio assegnato ad ogni giocatore che dipende dal tipo e dalla quantità di assets del gioco che il giocatore possiede. Il requisito per ricevere le ricompense dalla classifica Holding Rewards è superare un punteggio CROP POWER di 20000 punti. Le ricompense sono giornaliere e sono in token HIVE.
Il mio punteggio CROP POWER attuale è di 43241.98 punti.
Il CROP POWER è il motivo principale per cui ho deciso di non aprire 20 pacchi di carte. Infatti gran parte del mio punteggio CROP POWER deriva dai miei 20 pacchi di carte: 20 pacchi di carte = 40000 CROP POWER
Fino ad oggi ho ricevuto un totale di 5.09 HIVE dalla classifica Holding Rewards.

Le Quests
Le Quests sono il terzo meccanismo di Dcrops per ricompensare i suoi giocatori. La prima versione delle Quests è stata introdotta nella stagione invernale ma nella stagione primaverile le Quests sono state modificate e rese più semplici.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le sette quests che ho completato nella stagione primaverile.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere cosa ho trovato all'interno dei 10 forzieri che ho ricevuto come ricompensa per il completamento delle Quests.
Queste carte mi permetteranno di incrementare o velocizzare la mia produzione stagionale e in questa stagione proverò ad usarle.
I token CROP
I token CROP sono i token nativi del gioco di Dcrops e sono token di secondo livello della blockchain di Hive.
Nel mio wallet interno al gioco ho un totale di 3469.932 token CROP.

Valutazione del mio investimento su Dcrops

Ho quindi tutti i dati per poter calcolare Profitto e ROI del mio investimento su Dcrops.
Ho iniziato ad investire nel gioco di Dcrops negli ultimi giorni del mese di maggio 2021 quando è iniziata la seconda stagione del gioco (la prima estate).
In circa 5 mesi e mezzo ho ottenuto un profitto di 552.46 HIVE a fronte di un investimento di 156.57 HIVE.
Il ROI è del +352.85%
Sono molto soddisfatto del risultato finanziario del mio investimento su Dcrops.
Ma chi si iscrive oggi che risultati può aspettarsi di ottenere?
Chi si iscrive oggi su Dcrops per avere i miei stessi assets deve investire 695.85 HIVE.
Considerando solo le ricompense ricevute nell'ultima stagione conclusa il mio ROI stagionale (15 giorni) è stato del 3.136% mentre il mio ROI annuale stimato è del 75.26%
Chi inizia oggi e compra le mie stesse carte e acquista 20 pacchi di carte avrà un ROI naturalmente più basso del mio.
Un ROI del +0.706% in 15 giorni è comunque un buon ROI.
Conclusione
Spero con questo post di aver aiutato @halbtagsdicher come chi è interessato al gioco di Dcrops ad avere più elementi per decidere se investire o meno nel gioco di Dcrops.
Per me Dcrops si è rivelato un ottimo investimento ma la scelta di investire deve essere ovviamente personale e dopo aver fatto tutte le dovute considerazioni e valutazioni personali.
