September 15 marked the end of another season of Splinterlands, my 47th season since becoming a Splinterlands player.
In the season just ended I stopped applying my usual end-of-season strategy.
In fact in the previous seasons I always rented cards from the Splinterlands market during the last two days before the end of the season with the purpose of:
- increase the battle strength of my collection of cards
- increase my power score to try to arrive in the advanced leagues of Splinterlands (Champion Leagues III, II, I). I have been using my end-of-season rental strategy for over a year now: I started September 14, 2020.
This season I left my power score intact and played solely with my own cards. I chose not to rent cards in the season finale that just ended because I only found very high rental prices for the cards I wanted to rent. Because of this, I would have risked ending the season with a negative balance instead of a positive one.
I preferred to rent my own cards instead of renting cards from other players. I explained in detail the reasons of my choice in the post I published three days ago.
Before the arrival of the new Reward cards, the probability of finding a card inside a chest was 1/3 while now the probability of finding a card inside a chest is 50%.. So many cards will be brought into the game through daily rewards and end of season rewards.
What impact will the new Reward cards have on the market?
It's just my opinion and prediction but we could have a lowering of the price of the cards less useful in battle while the cards more useful in battle such as legendary cards and cards with good abilities should hold up the introduction of new cards. The arrival of the new Reward cards could also lead to an increase in the price of summoner cards. More cards received equals a greater chance of combining cards to get cards of higher level than the first. In order to use higher-than-first-level cards, you must have higher-than-first-level summoners. Because of this, the demand for summoner cards may increase causing the purchase and rental price to rise.
Statistics and Considerations
The season just ended was the first season with the new rewards mechanism: Only the rating score recorded at the exact moment the season ends counts in awarding end-of-season rewards.
Before, the maximum rating score obtained during the season counted.
I finished the season with a rating score of 2891 points and was ranked number 760 in the Diamond league leaderboard.
Although I played fewer battles (229) than the previous season I improved my season win rate (120 wins out of 229 battles) by almost two percentage points (50.64% -> 52.40%).
My end-of-season reward
As a reward for finishing the season in Diamond III league I received 40 chests.
In the following image you can see the cards I found inside the chests.
Chests can contain three types of rewards: Cards, DECs, Potions. I found 17 cards out of 40 chests. The probability of finding a card in each chest is exactly 50%, so I found a slightly below average number of cards compared to the odds (40/2= 20).
I found:
- 13 common cards
- 3 epic cards
- 1 gold common card
The most valuable card I found inside the chests was the Gold Pelacor Mercenary common card of the Earth element which has a market value of $6,694 and has a DEC conversion value of 125.
The total value of the cards that I found inside the chests is 18,165$
DECs and Potions
In addition to the cards in the remaining 23 chests I found:
- 4 legendary potions
- 4 alchemical potions
- a total of 253 DEC tokens.
Based on the current value of DEC tokens (September 18, 2021), the value of 253 DEC tokens is 1.85955 HIVE (Highest BID on LeoDex/HiveEngine/TribalDex)
The dollar value of 253 DEC tokens is $1.44. The total dollar value of my end-of-season reward is the result of summing the following values:
- total value of cards found in chests: 18.165 $
- total value of DEC tokens found in the chests: 1.44 $
In the season that just ended, I made a profit of 1.44 $ + 18.165 $ = 19.609 $ (previous season +28.426 $).
In my end-of-season reward chests, I found more cards than the previous season but the value of the rewards was less. But whether the reward is small or large I'm still happy because it was obtained in the best possible way: by playing!
Any game that involves the purchase of cards and tokens is never a simple game but it is also an investment and should be considered as such. I am not a financial consultant and if you decide to invest in the game of Splinterlands you do it for your own choice, after having made your personal evaluations and considered all possible risk factors.
My advice is to always invest only what you can afford to lose with a light heart.

Considerazioni sulla fine di stagione + la mia ricompensa di fine stagione
Il 15 settembre è terminata un'altra stagione di Splinterlands, la mia quarantasettesima stagione da quando sono diventato un giocatore di Splinterlands.
Nella stagione appena conclusa ho interrotto l'applicazione della mia usuale strategia di fine stagione.
Infatti nelle precedenti stagioni ho sempre noleggiato carte dal mercato di Splinterlands durante gli ultimi due giorni prima della fine della stagione con lo scopo di:
- aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte
- aumentare il mio punteggio power per tentare di arrivare nelle leghe avanzate di Splinterlands (Leghe Champion III, II, I).
Ho adottato la mia strategia di noleggio di fine stagione da più di un anno: 14 settembre 2020.
In questa stagione ho lasciato il mio punteggio power intatto e ho giocato unicamente con le mie carte. Ho scelto di non prendere in noleggio carte nel finale della stagione appena conclusa perchè ho trovato solo prezzi di noleggio molto alti per le carte che avrei voluto noleggiare. Per questo motivo avrei rischiato di finire la stagione con un saldo negativo invece che positivo.
Ho preferito noleggiare le mie carte invece che prendere carte in noleggio da altri giocatori. Ho spiegato in dettaglio i motivi della mia scelta nel post che ho pubblicato tre giorni fa.
Prima dell'arrivo delle nuove carte Reward la probabilità di trovare una carta all'interno di un forziere era di 1/3 mentre adesso la probabilità di trovare una carta all'interno di un forziere è del 50%. Saranno immesse nel gioco tante carte grazie alle ricompense giornaliere e alle ricompense di fine stagione.
Che impatto avranno sul mercato le nuove carte Reward?
E' solo la mia opinione e previsione ma si potrebbe avere un abbassamento di prezzo delle carte meno utili in battaglia mentre le carte più utili in battaglia come le carte leggendarie e le carte con ottime abilità dovrebbero reggere l'immissione di nuove carte. L'arrivo delle nuove carte Reward potrebbe portare anche ad un aumento di prezzo delle carte evocatore. Più carte ricevute equivale ad una maggiore possibilità di combinare le carte per ottenere carte di livello superiore al primo. Per utilizzare carte di livello superiore al primo è necessario avere evocatori di livello superiore al primo. Per questo motivo la richiesta di carte evocatore potrebbe aumentare facendo salire il prezzo di acquisto e di noleggio.
Statistiche e Considerazioni
La stagione appena conclusa è stata la prima stagione con il nuovo meccanismo di attribuzione delle ricompense: Per l'attribuzione delle ricompese di fine stagione conta solo il punteggio di rating registrato nel momento esatto in cui termina la stagione
Prima invece contava il punteggio di rating massimo ottenuto durante la stagione.
Ho concluso la stagione con un punteggio di rating di 2891 punti e mi sono classificato alla posizione numero 760 della classifica di lega Diamond.
Anche se ho giocato meno battaglie (229) rispetto alla stagione precedente ho migliorato il mio win rate stagionale (120 vittorie su 229 battaglie) di quasi due punti percentuali (50.64% -> 52.40%).
La mia ricompensa di fine stagione
Come ricompensa per aver terminato la stagione in lega Diamond III ho ricevuto 40 forzieri.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le carte che ho trovato all'interno dei forzieri.
I forzieri possono contenere tre tipologie di premi: Carte, DEC, Pozioni. Ho trovato 17 carte su 50 forzieri. La probabilità di trovare una carta in ogni forziere è esattamente del 50% e quindi ho trovato un numero di carte leggermente sotto la media rispetto alle probabilità (40/2= 20).
Ho trovato:
- 13 carte comuni
- 3 carte epiche
- 1 carta comune dorata
La carta di maggior valore che ho trovato all'interno dei forzieri è stata la carta comune in versione Gold Pelacor Mercenary dell'elemento Terra che ha un valore di mercato di 6.694$ e ha un valore di conversione in DEC di 125.
Il valore totale delle carte che ho trovato all'interno dei forzieri è di 18.165 $
DEC e Pozioni
Oltre alle carte nei restanti 23 forzieri ho trovato:

Nella stagione appena conclusa ho ottenuto un profitto di 1.44 $ + 18.165 $ = 19.609 $ (stagione precedente +28.426 $).
Nei forzieri della mia ricompensa di fine stagione ho trovato più carte rispetto alla stagione precedente ma il valore delle ricompense è stato inferiore. Ma che la ricompensa sia piccola o grande sono comunque contento perchè è stata ottenuta nel modo migliore possibile: giocando!
