My Last Harvest on Hashkings: Profit Calculation and Considerations

It has been almost a month that I have very little free time due to so many work commitments, and I have had to reduce my activity of posting and interacting on Hive. I really enjoy posting and interacting on Hive and hope to get back to the rhythm of previous months as soon as possible. With the limited time I have also reduced part of my gaming activity on the Hive games that are one of my passions. For example on Hashkings I have only today performed harvest operations from my 4 Southamerica lands when I could perform these operations at least two weeks ago.

Today I return to share just my gaming activity on Hashkings by showing:

  • my Harvest operations
  • the operations I perform to restart production
  • the calculation of the profit of the Harvest operation net of the costs incurred to restart production.

The last time I calculated and shared the profit in BUDS tokens obtained from my virtual farming operation of my 4 lands in South America was December 14, 2022 and on that date I obtained a net profit of 771 BUDS = 0.2221 SWAP.HIVE = $0.0768.

What has changed from a month ago? Will my farming activity allow me to obtain more or less profit?

In my 4 Land South America I had planted and watered:

  • 3 seed Columbian Gold
  • 1 seed Panama Red

The Colombian Gold and Panama Red seeds have a production time of 7 days and as you can see from the calculations in the diagram below from the harvest operation I got a total reward of 878 BUDS today.

It's time to select seeds to plant to get my agricultural production started again. My staking of MOTA tokens has long allowed me not to buy seed-type NFTs from https://nftm.art/buy/hkfarm because I receive 4 seeds completely free every week.

The seed-type NFTs distribution system will change soon and staking MOTA tokens will be replaced by burning MOTA tokens as announced by @hashkings in this recent post: Change to the MOTA system for 2023

Those like me who have staked MOTA tokens will receive their MOTA tokens back in the wallet and have the choice of selling them at https://hive-engine.com/trade/MOTA or burning them. I will burn them to continue receiving new seeds each week.

In the image below you can see the announcement posted yesterday on the Hashkings Discord server.

The new seeds I chose to plant in my 4 South American lands are:

  • 3 Panama Red: total production: 635 BUDS (213+212+210)
  • 1 Colombian Gold: total production: 209 BUDS

This means that in seven days when I harvest again I will get a total amount of 845 BUDS.

To turn the seeds I planted today into plants I need to water them with water, and on Hashkings the water is represented by HKWATER tokens that can be bought and sold at https://hive-engine.com/trade/HKWATER.

I need 2072 HKWATER but I only have 44.72 HKWATER in my wallet.

At this point I have two options:

  • buy 2028 HKWATER immediately and spend 0.0905464 SWAP.HIVE.
  • make an offer to buy and spend 0.034476 SWAP.HIVE if my offer is accepted

The difference between Highest Bid and Lowest Ask is very large.

I noticed that some bids were accepted.

Therefore, I decided to make an offer to purchase 20k HKWATER at a price of 0.0000171 HIVE/HKWATER = 0.342 SWAP.HIVE.

If my purchase offer is accepted I will have enough HKWATER to be able to water my seeds for the next 10 weeks (my next 10 Harvests).

If in seven days my purchase offer is not accepted I will buy the amount of HKWATER tokens I need at the sale price of the best sale offer (Lowest Ask).

If I succeed in buying the HKWATER tokens at the price of my buy offer in seven days I will get a net profit of 712 BUDS = 0.1512 SWAP.HIVE = $0.0511

If I had bought the HKWATER tokens today (Lowest Ask price) I would have gotten a net profit of 451 BUDS = 0.0958 SWAP.HIVE = $0.0324.

My farm once again proves to be self-sufficient because with the value of my last harvest I will be able to cover the costs of restarting production (cost of buying HKWATER tokens) and my profit will be:

  • in the best case 712 BUDS
  • in the worst case about 451 BUDS.

A profit of $0.0511 is low in dollar terms but the time it took me to get it is very little: about 3 minutes.

I am considering buying more South American land.

Today January 15, 2022 a South America land has a cost of 4.6 SWAP.HIVE

If I can in my next harvests achieve a profit per harvest of 0.03 SWAP.HIVE per land I would earn about 1.56 SWAP.HIVE per year which would correspond to an ROI of 33% considering the current cost of a South America NFT. This ROI could increase if the value of BUDS tokens increases in the future.

My next Harvests will be testing to make me decide whether to increase my investment on Hashkings by buying more lands or not.

E' quasi un mese che ho davvero poco tempo libero a causa di tanti impegni lavorativi e ho dovuto ridurre la mia attività di pubblicazione e interazione su Hive. Pubblicare e interagire su Hive mi piace molto e spero di ritornare ai ritmi dei mesi precedenti nel più breve tempo possibile. Con il poco tempo a disposizione ho anche trascurato parte della mia attività di gioco sugli Hive games che sono una delle mie passioni. Ad esempio su **Hashkings** ho effettuato solo oggi le operazioni di harvest dalle mie 4 land Southamerica quando potevo effettuare queste operazioni almeno due settimane fa. Purtroppo capitano i periodi in cui si ha poco tempo libero a disposizione...

Oggi ritorno a condividere proprio la mia attività di gioco su Hashkings mostrando:

  • le mie operazioni di Harvest
  • le operazioni che effettuo per far ripartire la produzione
  • il calcolo del profitto dell'operazione di Harvest al netto dei costi sostenuti per far ripartire la produzione.

L'ultima volta che ho calcolato e condiviso il profitto in token BUDS ottenuto dalla mia attività di coltivatore virtuale delle mie 4 land in South America era il 14 dicembre 2022 e in quella data ho ottenuto un profitto netto di 771 BUDS = 0.2221 SWAP.HIVE = 0.0768$.

Cosa è cambiato rispetto ad un mese fa? La mia attività di farming mi permetterà di ottenere un profitto maggiore o minore?

Scopriamolo insieme ;)

Nelle mie 4 Land South America avevo piantato e innaffiato:

  • 3 semi Columbian Gold
  • 1 seme Panama Red

I semi Colombian Gold e Panama Red hanno un tempo di produzione di 7 giorni e come puoi vedere dai calcoli presenti nello schema seguente dall'operazione di harvest ho ottenuto oggi una ricompensa totale di 878 BUDS.

E' il momento di scegliere i semi da piantare per far ripartire la mia produzione agricola. La mia attività di staking dei token MOTA mi permette da tempo di non acquistare NFT di tipo seme da https://nftm.art/buy/hkfarm perchè ricevo 4 semi in modo completamente gratuito ogni settimana.

Il sistema di distribuzione degli NFTs di tipo seme cambierà a breve e lo staking dei token MOTA sarà sostituito dal burning dei token MOTA come annuncianto da @hashkings in questo recente post: Change to the MOTA system for 2023

Chi come me ha token MOTA staked riceverà indietro i suoi token MOTA nel wallet e potrà scegliere se venderli su https://hive-engine.com/trade/MOTA o bruciarli. Io li brucerò per continuare a ricevere nuovi semi ogni settimana.

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere l'annuncio pubblicato ieri sul server Discord di Hashkings.

I nuovi semi che ho scelto di piantare nelle mie 4 land South America sono:

  • 3 Panama Red: produzione totale: 635 BUDS (213+212+210)
  • 1 Colombian Gold: produzione totale: 209 BUDS

Questo vuol dire che tra sette giorni, quando effettuerò di nuovo l'harvest otterrò un quantitativo totale di 845 BUDS.

Per far diventare i semi che ho piantato oggi delle piante ho bisogno di innaffiarli con dell'acqua e su Hashkings l'acqua è rappresentata dai token HKWATER acquistabili e vendibili su https://hive-engine.com/trade/HKWATER.

Ho bisogno di 2072 HKWATER ma nel mio wallet ho solo 44.72 HKWATER.

A questo punto ho due possibilità:

  • acquistare subito 2028 HKWATER e spendere 0.0905464 SWAP.HIVE
  • fare un'offerta di acquisto e spendere 0.034476 SWAP.HIVE se la mia offerta verrà accettata

La differenza tra Highest Bid e Lowest Ask è molto ampia.

Ho notato che alcune offerte di acquisto sono state accettate.

Per questo motivo ho deciso di fare un'offerta di acquisto di 20k HKWATER al prezzo di 0.0000171 HIVE/HKWATER = 0.342 SWAP.HIVE.

Se la mia offerta di acquisto sarà accettata avrò un quantitativo di HKWATER sufficiente per poter innaffiare i miei semi per le prossime 10 settimane (i miei prossimi 10 Harvests).

Se fra sette giorni la mia offerta di acquisto non sarà accettata comprerò il quantitativo di token HKWATER che mi serve al prezzo di vendita della migliore offerta di vendita (Lowest Ask).

Se riuscirò ad acquistare i token HKWATER al prezzo della mia offerta di acquisto fra sette giorni otterrò un profitto netto di 712 BUDS = 0.1512 SWAP.HIVE = 0.0511$

Se avessi acquistato i token HKWATER oggi (Lowest Ask price) avrei ottenuto un profitto netto di 451 BUDS = 0.0958 SWAP.HIVE = 0.0324$.

La mia fattoria si dimostra ancora una volta autosufficiente perchè con il valore del mio ultimo raccolto potrò coprire i costi per far ripartire la produzione (costo per l'acquisto dei token HKWATER) e il mio profitto sarà:

  • nel migliore dei casi 712 BUDS
  • nel peggiore dei casi circa 451 BUDS.

Un profitto di 0.0511$ è un valore basso in termini di dollari ma il tempo che ho impiegato per ottenerlo è davvero poco: 3 minuti circa.

Sto valutando la possibilità di acquistare altre land South America.

Oggi 15 gennaio 2022 una land South America ha un costo di 4.6 SWAP.HIVE

Se riuscissi ad ottenere un profitto per harvest di 0.03 SWAP.HIVE per land guadagnerei circa 1.56 SWAP.HIVE all'anno che corrisponderebbe ad un ROI del 33% considerando il costo attuale di un NFT South America. Questo ROI potrebbe aumentare se il valore dei token BUDS dovesse aumentare in futuro.

I miei prossimi Harvests saranno di test per farmi decidere se aumentare il mio investimento su Hashkings acquistando altre lands oppure no.
