Hello friends and players of Splinterlands, the protagonist of this post is the card Naga Brute which is also the protagonist of the contest of Splinterlands titled "Share Your Battle" this week.
Card: Naga Brute
It is a Common card and is a card of the Dragon element.
Naga Brute of level 1 has the following statistics:
- It has a medium mana cost (6)
- It has no attachment points
- It has 4 life points and has 7 armor points.
- It has very low speed (1)
- It has an ability: Void Armor
Cost, Levels and Ratings
Level considerations
Level 5
The level that in my opinion has the best ratio benefits / price is the fifth level. To reach the fifth level you need 60 cards to combine and the total cost is 6.60 $. At level 5 Naga Brute acquires a new ability: Thorns.
Thanks to the Thorns ability when Naga Brute receives an attack from an opponent's Melee attack card, she attacks the card that attacked her.
Compared to level 1 it increases the life points of one unit (4->5) and increases the armor points of two units (7->9).
Level 8
To reach the eighth level you need 220 cards to combine and the total cost is 24.2 $.
When Naga Brute reaches level 8 it acquires another ability: Return Fire.
Cards that have the Return Fire ability are able to launch a reduced attack in response to a ranged attack.
Max level
To upgrade Naga Brute to the highest level you have to buy 400 cards but the price is too high ($44) and there are much better cards without attack to buy.

- Reverse Speed: The speed attribute of the cards is reversed: the cards with the lowest speed become the fastest cards and vice versa.
- Taking Sides: Neutral element cards cannot be used.
- Mana Cap: 38.
- Summoners that can be used: Water, Death, Dragon.

Why did I choose Naga Brute (Level 1) in first position?
Honestly the choice was dictated by one reason only: Naga Brute is the protagonist of this week's "Share your battle" contest. I would have preferred to put in first position other cards like Sea Monster, The Kraken or Frost Giant that have a good number of life points but also a good attack.
But the weekly Splinterlands contest is often useful for me to evaluate and try cards that I don't usually use frequently.
To choose Naga Brute I had to wait for a battle with the Reverse Speed battle rule that allows Naga Brute to lose one of its weak points (the low speed).
The combined use with the Crustacean King card increases its armor points by two units (7 -> 9).
Second position
Why did I choose Captain's Ghost (Level 2) for the second position?
When the battle rule is Reverse Speed I try to choose for the most attacked positions (the first two and the last two) cards that have low speed and Captain's Ghost has a speed equal to 2 and is a good card to deploy in this battle. It is a good card, it has a good number of life points (7), a good attack (2) and a good ability (Poison).
Third position
Why did I choose Dragon Jumper (Level 1)?
I chose Dragon Jumper because it's a really good card. It has a good attack (3) and thanks to its ability it will attack the weaker opponent cards. Thanks to the combined use with the Daria Dragonscale Summoner its attack increases by one unit (3 -> 4).
Fourth position
Why did I choose Ruler of the Seas (Level 3)?
Ruler of the Seas is one of my favorite cards and is one of the cards I always use when the required element is Water.
It has three very useful skills:
- Blast
- Swiftness
- Silenced It has an excellent magical attack (3) and a really strong ability: Blast. In the battle of this post it has a counterproductive ability (Swiftness) because it increases the speed of all my cards but its other abilities and its characteristics make it a difficult card to keep out of battle.
Fifth position
Why did I choose Crustacean King (Level 7)?
Actually my Crustacean King is level 8 but the Daria Dragonscale level allows me to use it only at level 7. It's a very useful card of the element water and that, like Ruler of the Seas, I deploy almost always. In the battle of this post allows my cards to have two additional armor points. It has a low cost in Mana (3) and has two very good abilities: Tank Heal and Protect. Crustacean King is one of those cards that cannot miss in any card collection.
Six position
Why did I choose Water Element?
It's a card I like because it has a very good attack (3) and above all it has the ability "Heal". Thanks to its ability it is able to restore 2 life points at each round of the battle. It also has a very good speed (5) but in the case of the battle I shared it becomes a weak point. Without the battle rule Reverse Speed is an excellent choice for the last or penultimate position.
Summoner
It is one of the summoners I use the most. Thanks to its ability (+1 Melee attack) the Dragon Jumper card gets one more attack point (3 ->4).
The choice of cards depends a lot on the choice of the Summoner and his ability. To deploy Naga Brute I had to choose a Summoner of the Dragon element and I chose Daria Dragonscale but having two cards with magic attack I would have increased my attack strength if I chose Arlric Stormbringher.
Final considerations
Considerations on the Battle
My opponent starts with an attack points advantage over me. I have an advantage relative to the total (life points + armor points). I have 12 total attack points while my opponent has 16 total attack points. During the first round both me and my opponent lose a card. I lose Naga Brute who shows all its fragility in first position (at least if we consider level 1). My opponent loses the Soulstorm card targeted by my Dragon Jumper.
During Round 2 my opponent loses two more cards:
- Undead Rexx
- Boogeyman
At the beginning of the Round 3 my advantage is great because my opponent has 2 cards out of 3 with distance attack and when Haunted Spirit and Dark Astronomer get to first position they will lose their attack.
The battle ends during Round 4 with my victory. The cards that contributed most to the victory were Crustaceand King, Dragon Jumper and Ruler of the seas.
Considerations on Naga Brute
Naga Brute is a not very useful card at level 1. Before now I had never used it in battle. Its major defects are:
- low speed (1)
- few life points (4)
For a card to be placed in first position are two elements that put together do not allow you to have so much advantage over your opponent.
I prefer to use in battle Gelatinous Cube that I consider much stronger than Naga Brute and above all it has a much lower cost than Naga Brute.
But when the rule of battle is Taking Sides very strong cards like Lord Arianthus and Gelatinous Cube cannot be used and Naga Brute could become a possible and valid choice.
The battle utility of the Naga Brute card increases when the battle rules are:
- Equalizer
- Reverse Speed
- Rise of Commons
- Taking Sides

Carta: Naga Brute
E' una carta Comune ed è una carta dell'elemento Dragone.
Naga Brute di livello 1 ha le seguenti statistiche:
- Ha un costo in mana medio (6)
- Non ha punti di attacco
- Ha 4 punti vita e ha 7 punti armatura.
- Ha una velocità bassa (1)
- Ha un'abilità: Void Armor
Considerazioni sui livelli
Livello 5
Il livello che secondo me ha il miglior rapporto benefici / prezzo è il quinto livello. Per raggiungere il quinto livello sono necessarie 60 carte da combinare e il costo totale è di 6,60 $. Al livello 5 Naga Brute acquisisce una nuova abilità: Thorns.
Grazie all'abilità Thorns quando Naga Brute riceve un attacco da una carta avversaria con attacco da mischie (Melee attack) attacca la carta che l'ha attaccata.
Rispetto al livello 1 aumenta i punti vita di una unità (4->5) e aumenta i punti armatura di due unità (7->9)
Livello 8
Per raggiungere l'ottavo livello sono necessarie 220 carte da combinare e il costo totale è di 24,2 $.
Quando Naga Brute raggiunge il livello 8 acquisisce un'altra abilità: Return Fire.
Le carte che hanno l'abilità Return Fire sono in grado di sferrare un attacco ridotto in risposta ad un attacco subito da carte dotate di attacco dalla distanza (Ranged attack).
Max level
Per portare Naga Brute al massimo livello bisogna acquistare 400 carte ma il prezzo è troppo alto (44 $) e ci sono carte senza attacco decisamente migliori da comprare.

- Reverse Speed: L'attributo velocità delle carte è invertito: le carte con la velocità più bassa diventano le carte più veloci e viceversa.
- Taking Sides: Non possono essere usate le carte dell'elemento neutrale.
- Mana Cap: 38.
- Evocatori utilizzabili: Possono essere usati solo gli evocatori degli elementi: Acqua, Morte, Dragone.
La mia formazione di battaglia
Perchè ho scelto Naga Brute (Livello 1) in prima posizione?
Sinceramente la scelta è stata dettata da un solo motivo: Naga Brute è la protagonista del contest "Share your battle" di questa settimana. Avrei preferito mettere in prima posizione altre carte come Sea Monster, The Kraken o Frost Giant che hanno un buon numero di punti vita ma anche un buon attacco.
Ma il contest settimanale di Splinterlands mi è spesso utile per valutare e provare carte che in genere non uso di frequente.
Per scegliere Naga Brute ho dovuto aspettare una battaglia con la regola di battaglia Reverse Speed che permette a Naga Brute di perdere uno dei suoi punti deboli (la bassa velocità).
L'utilizzo combinato con la carta Crustacean King aumenta i suoi punti armatura di due unità (7 -> 9).
Seconda posizione
Perchè ho scelto Captain's Ghost (Livello 2) per la seconda posizione?
Quando la regola di battaglia è Reverse Speed cerco di scegliere per le posizioni generalmente più attaccate (le prime due e le utlime due) carte che hanno bassa velocità e Captain's Ghost ha una velocità uguale a 2 ed è una buona carta da schierare in questa battaglia. E' un ottima carta, ha un buon numero di punti vita (7), un buon attacco (2) e una buona abilità (Poison).
Terza posizione
Perchè ho scelto Dragon Jumper (Livello 1)?
Ho scelto Dragon Jumper perchè è davvero un ottima carta. Ha un buon attacco (3) e grazie alla sua abilità attaccherà le carte avversarie più deboli. Grazie all'uso combinato con l'evocatore Daria Dragonscale il suo attacco aumenta di un'unità (3 -> 4).
Quarta posizione
Perchè ho scelto Ruler of the Seas (Livello 3)?
Ruler of the Seas è una delle mie carte preferite ed è una delle carte che uso sempre quando l'elemento richiesto è Acqua.
Ha tre abilità utilissime:
- Blast
- Swiftness
- Silenced Ha un ottimo attacco magico (3) e un'abilità davvero forte: Blast. Nella battaglia di questo post ha un'abilità controproducente (Swiftness) perchè aumenta la velocità di tutte le mie carte ma le altre sue abilità e le sue carattestiche la rendono una carta difficile da tenere fuori dalla battaglia.
Quinta posizione
Perchè ho scelto Crustacean King (Livello 7)?
In realtà il mio Crustacean King è di livello 8 ma il livello di Daria Dragonscale mi permette di utilizzarla solo al livello 7. E' una carta utilissima dell'elemento acqua e che, come Ruler of the Seas, schiero praticamente sempre. Nella battaglia di questo post permette alle mie carte di avere due punti armatura aggiuntivi. Ha un costo in Mana ridotto (3) e ha due ottime abilità: Tank Heal e Protect. Crustacean King è una di quelle carte che non può mancare in nessuna collezione di carte.
Sesta posizione
Perchè ho scelto Water Element?
E' una carta che mi piace perchè ha un ottimo attacco (3) e soprattutto ha l'abilità "Heal". Grazie alla sua abilità è in grado di ripristinare 2 punti vita ad ogni round della battaglia. Ha anche un'ottima velocità (5) che però nel caso della battaglia che ho condiviso diventa un punto debole. Senza la regola di battaglia Reverse Speed è, in base alle sue caratteristiche, un'ottima scelta per l'ultima o penultima posizione.
Evocatore
E' uno degli evocatori che uso di più. Grazie alla sua abilità (+1 Melee attack) la carta Dragon Jumper ottiene un punto di attacco in più (3 ->4).
La scelta delle carte dipende molto dalla scelta dell'evocatore e della sua abilità. Per schierare Naga Brute dovevo scegliere un evocatore dell'elemento Dragone e ho scelto Daria Dragonscale ma avendo due carte con attacco magico avrei aumentato la mia forza di attacco se sceglievo Arlric Stormbringher.
Considerazioni finali
Considerazioni sulla Battaglia
Il mio avversario parte con un vantaggio relativo ai punti di attacco rispetto a me. Io ho invece un vantaggio relativo al totale (punti vita + punti armatura) Io ho 12 punti di attacco totali mentre il mio avversario ha 16 punti di attacco totali. Durante il primo round sia io che il mio avversario perdiamo una carta. Io perdo Naga Brute che dimostra tutta la sua fragilità in prima posizione (almeno se consideriamo il livello 1). Il mio avversario perde la carta Soulstorm presa di mira dal mio Dragon Jumper.
Durante il Round 2 il mio avversario perde altre due carte:
- Undead Rexx
- Boogeyman
All'inizio del Round 3 il mio vantaggio è grande anche perchè il mio avversario ha 2 carte su 3 con attacco dalla distanza e quando Haunted Spirit e Dark Astronomer arriveranno in prima posizione perderanno il loro attacco.
La battaglia finisce durante il Round 4 con una mia vittoria. Le carte che hanno contribuito maggiormente alla vittoria sono state Crustaceand King, Dragon Jumper e Ruler of the seas.
Considerazioni su Naga Brute
Naga Brute è una carta poco utile al livello 1. Prima di adesso non l'avevo mai usata in battaglia. I suoi difetti maggiori sono:
- bassa velocità (1)
- pochi punti vita (4)
Per una carta da schierare in prima posizione sono due elementi che messi insieme non permettono di avere tanto vantaggio sull'avversario.
Preferisco usare in battaglia Gelatinous Cube che considero molto più forte di Naga Brute e soprattutto ha un costo decisamente più basso di Naga Brute.
Però quando la regola di battaglia è Taking Sides carte molto forti come Lord Arianthus e Gelatinous Cube non possono essere utilizzate e Naga Brute potrebbe diventare una possibile e valida scelta.
L'utilità in battaglia della carta Sabre Shark aumenta quando le regole di battaglia sono:
- Equalizer
- Reverse Speed
- Rise of Commons
- Taking Sides
