Hello friends and members of Olio di Balena community!

At the time I start writing this post there are only a few minutes left until Friday, the weekend is near and here I am to introduce you the eighth edition of mini contest born from the collaboration between the Olio di Balena community and InLeo.

There is a difference with the previous contests because there is no longer Leofinance and there is InLeo. No, the partner for this contest has not changed but simply Leofinance has completed its rebrand and now it is named InLeo.

This mini-contest has a double purpose:

• create a moment of interaction and sharing among the users of Olio di Balena
• raise knowledge of a useful tool created by Inleo for Hive communities: the Community Threads In fact the new Inleo UI is no longer a single community front-end but is a front-end that can be used to interact and post to all Hive communities such as Peakd and Ecency.

Mini Contest Topic

For the eighth edition of the Olio di Balena-InLeo contest, I have come up with a task that is really simple but can uncover Hive applications or activities that other Hivers might not know about.

For this week you need to create a thread within the Odb community and answer the question:

What are three activities you most enjoy doing on Hive?

Important note: Post a photo or screenshot and write the three activities in order of importance to you!

Mini Contest Deadline

• Start: October 13, 2023

• End: October 15, 2023 - 11:59 p.m.

Mini Contest Rules

• Rule 1: You must create a Thread within the Olio di Balena community (a thread with tag #oliodibalena).

• Rule 2: In your thread you must answer the question: What are the three activities you enjoy doing most on Hive?

Important note: Post a picture or screenshot and write the three activities in order of importance to you!

• Rule 3: In the thread you must include an image of your own or a photo taken from your personal photo archive or a photo/screenshot you took pertaining to the contest topic.

Alternative to Rule 3: You may also not use images but in this case you must create a threadstorm equivalent to three threads.

• Rule 4: you can choose to write your thread in Italian language or English language or both.

• Rule 5: you must be a member of the Olio di Balena community.

• Mini Contest DEADLINE: the contest starts today, October 13, 2023 and ends at 11:59 p.m. (Italian time) on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

Mini Contest Prizes

• The 6 Threads that generate the biggest interaction will receive 10 LEO = 1.25 HIVE

• 3 Threads will be chosen randomly and win 1 HBD each

• Your thread could also be voted by Inleo

How to Create a Thread in Olio di Balena

(Step-by-step guide)

A Thread is a Twitter-style post created and stored on the Hive blockchain through the use of the Inleo User Interface (UI)

A Community Thread is a thread posted within a Hive community and viewable within the Communities->"Community Name"->Threads section of the Inleo UI.

Olio di Balena community threads can be created and viewed within the Threads section of the page: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620 A thread is viewable in the Olio di Balena community if it contains the tag #oliodibalena

Creating a Community Thread is a very simple task and I will show you the steps to follow.

Note: The rebrand of Leofinance to Inleo happened a few days ago and I didn't have time to update the guide that keeps the screenshots of Leofinance but the steps given in my guide are the same to follow on Inleo as well. In the next mini-contest I will also update the screenshots showing the new interface ;)

Step 1: Login to Inleo.

• Step 1.1: You have to go to https://inleo.io/ and then you have to click on Log in

• Step 1.2: On the next screen you have several log in options to choose from including:

  • LeoAuth: You have to enter your Hive username, your Posting Key and then you have to click on Log in.

  • Log in with Hive KeyChain: You have to enter your Hive username, then you have to click on Log in and then you have to click on Confirm within the Hive Keychain screen.

Step 2: Enter the Home Page of the Olio di Balena.

• Step 2.1: You need to click on Communities.
• Step 2.2: You must enter "Olio di Balena" or part of the name in the search field.
• Step 2.3: You must click on the box that contains the logo and name of Olio di Balena

• Alternative Step 2: you need to go directly to the link: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620

Step 3: Create and post the Mini Contest Participation Thread.

• Step 3.1: Within the Home Page of Olio di Balena you need to click on Threads
• Step 3.2: Then you need to enter the text of your thread in the box that contains the #oliodibalena tag
• Step 3.3: Then you need to click on Thread in the bottom right corner.

Operation completed! Easy right? ;)

Now all you have to do is participate in this nice mini contest ;)

Advice: If the text of your thread exceeds the maximum capacity of a single thread you can also write a threadstorm. In this case only in the first thread you have to insert:

• the tag oliodibalena
• the tag threadstorm
• the 1/x indication where x is the number of threads your threadstorm contains.

All other threads after the first one you must enter them as comments to your first thread indicating for each thread the number of the tread such as 2/5, 3/5, ... 5/5 Examples of threadstorms can be found at this link: https://inleo.io/threads/tag/threadstorm

In the following image you can see the threadstorm (consisting of 1 thread + 3 comments to my thread) that I created for the Odb-Inleo contest a few weeks ago.

The Participants and the Announcement of the Winners of the Seventh Edition of the Mini Contest (October 5 - October 8, 2023)

Now I will show you all the hivers who participated in the previous mini contest and also show you their Odb threads.

In the previous mini-contest (Oct. 5-Oct. 8, 2023) there were 5 participants, one more participation than the previous weekend.

This mini-contest is quick and easy and has a total prize pool worth about $5. I honestly expected more entries because I see contests and giveaways that have more entries even though they have prize pools worth $0.1-$0.2 but I am convinced that entries will increase in the future.

The record number of entries so far has been 8 participants, and who knows, maybe this is the week when I will record a new record number of participants.

But now it's time to announce the winners of the prizes of the previous mini-contest!

As in the previous week's mini-contest, there were more prizes than participants in the mini-contest that ended on October 8, and because of this and for the second time in a row, the mini-contest prize pool will have an extra prize and 6 participants will receive 10 LEOs each in the coming weekend.

Ciao amici di Olio di Balena!

Nel momento in cui inizio a scrivere questo post mancano pochi minuti a venerdì, il week-end è vicino ed eccomi qui per presentarvi l'ottava edizione mini contest nato dalla collaborazione tra la comunità di Olio di Balena e InLeo.

C'è una differenza con i precedenti contest perchè non c'è più Leofinance e c'è InLeo. No non è cambiato il partner di questo contest ma semplicemente Leofinance ha completato il suo rebrand e adesso si chiama InLeo.

Questo mini-contest ha un duplice obiettivo:

• creare un momento di interazione e condivisione tra gli utenti di Olio di Balena
• far conoscere un utile strumento creato da InLeo per le comunità di Hive: i Community Threads Infatti la nuova UI di Inleo non è più un front-end di una singola comunità ma è un front-end utilizzabile per interagire e pubblicare su tutte le comunità di Hive come ad esempio Peakd ed Ecency.

Mini Contest Topic

Per l'ottava edizione del contest Olio di Balena-InLeo ho pensato ad un compito davvero semplice ma che può far scoprire applicazioni o attività di Hive che altri Hiver potrebbero non conoscere.

Mini Contest Rules

• Regola 1: Devi creare un Thread all'interno della comunità di Olio di Balena (il tuo thread deve avere il tag #oliodibalena

Come Creare un thread nella comunità di Olio di Balena

(Guida passo passo)

Un Thread è un post Twitter-style creato e memorizzato sulla blockchain di Hive tramite l'utilizzo della Inleo User Interface (UI)

Un Community Thread è un thread pubblicato all'interno di una comunità di Hive e visualizzabile all'interno della sezione Communities->"Nome Comunità"->Threads della Inleo UI.

I Community threads della comunità di Olio di Balena possono essere creati e visualizzati nella sezione Threads della pagina: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620 Nota Importante: Un thread è visualizzabile nella comunità di Olio di Balena se contiene il tag #oliodibalena

Creare un Community Thread è un'operazione molto semplice e ti mostro i passi da seguire.

Note: Il rebrand di Leofinance in Inleo è avvenuto pochi giorni fa e non ho avuto il tempo di aggiornare la guida che mantiene le schermate di Leofinance ma i passi indicati nella mia guida sono gli stessi da seguire anche su Inleo. Nel prossimo mini-contest aggiornerò anche le schermate che mostreranno la nuova interfaccia ;)

Passo 1: Login su InLeo

• Passo 1.1: Devi andare su https://inleo.io/ e poi devi cliccare su Log in

• Passo 1.2: Nella schermata successiva hai diverse opzioni di log in tra cui scegliere tra cui:
  • LeoAuth: Devi inserire il tuo Hive username, la tua Posting Key e poi devi cliccare su Log in.
  • Log in con Hive KeyChain: Devi inserire il tuo Hive username, poi devi cliccare su Log in e poi devi cliccare su Confirm all'interno della schermata di Hive Keychain.

Passo 2: Entrare nella Home Page della comunità di Olio di Balena

• Passo 2.1: Devi cliccare su Communities
• Passo 2.2: Devi inserire nel campo di ricerca "Olio di Balena" o parte del nome.
• Passo 2.3: Devi cliccare sul riquadro che contiene il logo e il nome di Olio di Balena

• Passo 2 alternativo: devi andare direttamente al link: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620

Passo 3: Creare e pubblicare il Thread di partecipazione al mini contest.

• Passo 3.1: All'interno della Home Page di Olio di Balena devi cliccare su Threads
• Passo 3.2: Poi devi inserire il testo del tuo thread nel riquadro che contiene il tag #oliodibalena
• Passo 3.3: Poi devi cliccare su Thread in basso a destra.

Operazione completata! Facile vero? ;)

Adesso non devi fare altro che partecipare a questo bel mini contest ;)

Consiglio: Se il testo del tuo thread è superiore alla capienza massima di un singolo thread puoi anche scrivere un threadstorm. In questo caso solo nel primo thread devi inserire due tag:

• il tag oliodibalena
• il tag threadstorm
• l'indicazione 1/x dove x è il numero dei threads che contiene il tuo threadstorm.

I Partecipanti e l'Annuncio dei Vincitori della Settima Edizione del Mini Contest (5 ottobre - 8 ottobre 2023)

Adesso ti mostro tutti gli hivers che hanno partecipato al precedente mini contest e ti mostro anche i loro Odb threads.

Nel mini-contest precedente (5 ottobre - 8 ottobre 2023) ci sono stati 5 partecipanti, una partecipazione in più rispetto all week-end precedente.

Questo mini contest è veloce e semplice e ha un montepremi del valore complessivo di circa 5$. Sinceramente mi aspettavo più partecipazioni perchè vedo contest e giveaway che hanno più partecipazioni anche se hanno montepremi del valore di 0.1$-0.2$ ma sono convinto che le partecipazioni aumenteranno in futuro.

Il record di partecipazioni fino ad ora è stato di 8 partecipanti e chissà che non sia proprio questa la settimana in cui registrerò un nuovo record di partecipanti.
