Hello friends, the protagonist of this post is the card Serpent Of Flame that is also the protagonist of the Splinterlands contest titled "Share Your Battle" this week.

Description, Statistics and Abilities
*** **Serpent Of Flame** is a card from the collections **Alpha/Beta**, is a **Epic** card and is a card from the element **Fire**.

Serpent Of Flame level 1 has the following statistics:

  • Has a cost in terms of mana medium (6)
  • Has 1 point of attack (Meele Attack)
  • It has 9 life points and has 1 armor point.
  • It has a highspeed (5)
  • It has a ability: Retaliate.

Level considerations

The level that in my opinion has the best ratio benefits / price is the fourth level. To reach the fourth level you need 11 cards to combine and the total cost is 4.95 $. To upgrade Serpent of Flame to the highest level you need to buy 46 cards and the total cost is 20.7 $. Serpent Of Flame is a good card but it can't be used profitably in every battle. This is the main reason why I recommend upgrading only after upgrading other cards that are much more useful in battle and cost less than Serpent of the flame.

In the battle of this post I had the following conditions to respect:

  • Weak Magic: Magic attack cards reduce the armor points first and then the opponent's life points.
  • Lost Leggendaries: Legendary cards cannot be used in battle.
  • Mana Cap: 15.
  • Summoners that can be used: Only Fire, Life and Earth element summoners can be used in battle.

My battle formation

The maximum number of cards that can be deployed in battle is 7 ( 1 summoner + 6 monsters).
I have chosen to deploy 6 cards (in order of position):

First position
**- Serpent Of Flame (Level 2) -**

Why did I deploy Serpent Of Flame (Level 2) in first position?

Because it is the only position that allows Serpent Of Flame to attack at each round. When few mana are available I prefer to deploy Cerberus that has the Heal ability and has a superior attack to Serpent Of The Flame. However Serpent Of Flame is a good alternative for the first position but it is not the best and there are several cards that play better in first position. The strengths of Serpent Of The Flame are:

  • the 9 life points which are a lot for a card that costs only 6 mana.
  • the armor point
  • high speed (has good chance of avoiding one or more attacks)

The weak point is that it has only one point of attack. Thanks to the Malric Inferno Summoner and the Echanted Pixies card, the Serpent of the flame attack points increase by two units (1-->2).

Second position

Why did I deploy Flame Monkey (Level 5) in second position?

The main reason why I chose Flame Monkey is its ability: Repair that restores the armor point of Serpent Of The Flame at every round of the battle. It costs only one mana point and is a very useful card when there are few mana available as in the battle I shared in this post.

Why did I choose Echanted Pixies?

Echanted Pixies is a very useful card that I often use especially when I have at least three cards with melee attack and when there are few mana available. In fact it has the ability Inspire to increase the melee attack of friendly cards by one unit. In the battle shared in this post, Serpent Of Flame, Kobold Miner, Flame Monkey and Furious Chicken acquire 1 more attack point thanks to the Inspire ability. Being a useful but fragile card (it has only 3 life points) I chose to deploy it in third position to protect it.

Why did I choose Kobold Miner (Level 4)?

Kobold Miner is a card that I almost always use when I choose to use the fire element summoner. It costs only 2 life points and thanks to the ability of the Malric Inferno Summoner and the Inspire ability of Enchanted Pixie it reaches an attack score equal to 4. I chose to deploy it in fourth position.

Fifth position

**Furious Chicken (Level 3 - Gold)**.

Why did I choose Furious Chicken (Level 3 - Gold)?

The most famous chicken in Splinterlands needs no introduction. Very useful card because it has a zero cost in mana. In the last position it has the main function to protect Kobold Miner from a first attack from a distance.

Summoner

The summoner I have chosen is **Malric Inferno - Level 6**.

It is one of the summoners I use the most when:

  • the battle rule is Melee Mayhem or Up Close and Personal.
  • I cannot use the dragon element summoners. If the battle allows you to use the summoners of the Dragon element I prefer to choose Daria Dragonscale.

Thanks to Malric Inferno's ability, all my melee attack cards get an extra attack point.

Final considerations

Considerations on the Battle

During the first round my opponent loses a card while I lose only Furious Chicken annihilated by Serpentine Spy's attack. The battle ends at the beginning of Round 4.

Considerations on Serpent Of Flame
*** **Serpent Of Flame** is a card I didn't have on my deck. I decided to rent it at a total cost of $0.005 just to participate in the weekly Splinterlands contest. There are at least ten more useful cards to line up in first position. Serpent Of Flame can be useful when the battle rules are **Up Close and Personal** and **Melee Mayhem** that allow Serpent Of Flame to be deployed in a different position from the first one.

Considerazioni sui livelli

Il livello che secondo me ha il miglior rapporto benefici / prezzo è il quarto livello. Per raggiungere il quarto livello sono necessarie 11 carte da combinare e il costo totale è di 4.95 $ Per portare Serpent of Flame al massimo livello bisogna acquistare 46 carte e il costo totale è di 20.7 $. Serpent Of Flame è una buona carta ma non è utilizzabile proficuamente in ogni battaglia. E' questo il motivo principale per cui consiglio di portarla massimo al livello 4 o almeno consiglio il potenziamento solo dopo aver potenziato altre carte che sono molto più utili in battaglia.

Adesso vediamo come si comporta Serpent of Flame sul campo di Battaglia.

Perchè ho schierato Serpent Of Flame (Livello 2) in prima posizione?

Perchè è l'unica posizione che permette a Serpent Of Flame di attaccare ad ogni round. Quando i mana disponibili sono pochi preferisco schierare Cerberus che ha l'abilità Heal ed ha un attacco superiore a Serpent Of The Flame. Comunque Serpent Of Flame è una buona alternativa per la prima posizione ma non è la migliore e ci sono diverse carte che giocano meglio in prima posizione. I punti forti di Serpent Of The Flame sono:

  • i 9 punti vita che sono molti per una carta che costa solo 6 mana.
  • il punto armatura
  • l'alta velocità (ha buone probabilità di evitare uno o più attacchi) Il punto debole è che ha un solo punto di attacco. Grazie all'evocatore Malric Inferno e alla carta Echanted Pixies, i punti di attacco di Serpent of the flame aumentano di due unità (1-->2).

Seconda posizione

**- Flame Monkey (Livello 5) -**

Perchè ho schierato Flame Monkey (Livello 5) in seconda posizione?

Il motivo principale per cui ho scelto Flame Monkey è la sua abilità: Repair che riprista il punto armatura di Serpent Of The Flame ad ogni round della battaglia. Costa un solo punto di mana ed è una carta particolarmente utile quando i mana a disposizione sono pochi come nella battaglia che ho condiviso in questo post.

Terza posizione

**Echanted Pixies (Livello 5)**.

Perchè ho scelto Echanted Pixies?

Echanted Pixies è una carta molto utile e che uso spesso in particolare quando ho almeno tre carte con attacco da mischia e quando i mana disponibili sono pochi. Infatti ha l'abilità Inspire in grado di aumentare di un'unità l'attacco da mischia di Serpent Of Flame, Kobold Miner, Flame Monkey e Furious Chicken. Essendo una carta utile ma fragile (ha solo 3 punti vita) ho scelto di schierarla in terza posizione per proteggerla.

Perchè ho scelto Kobold Miner (Livello 4)?

Kobold Miner è una carta che uso quasi sempre dell'elemento fuoco. Costa solo 2 punti vita e grazie all'abilità dell'evocatore Malric Inferno e all'abilità Inspire di Enchanted Pixie raggiunge un punteggio di attacco uguale a 4. Ho scelto di schierarla in quarta posizione.

**Furious Chicken (Livello 3 - Gold)**.

Perchè ho scelto Furious Chicken (Livello 3 - Gold)?

Il pollo più famoso di Splinterlands non ha bisogno di presentazioni. Carta utilissima perchè ha un costo in mana nullo. In ultima posizione ha la funzione principale di proteggere Kobold Miner da un primo attacco dalla distanza.

Evocatore

L'evocatore che ho scelto è **Malric Inferno - Livello 6**.

E' uno degli evocatori che uso di più quando:

  • la regola di battaglia è Melee Mayhem o Up Close e Personal.
  • non posso utilizzare gli evocatori dell'elemento dragone. Se la battaglia consente di utilizzare gli evocatori dell'elemento Dragone preferisco scegliere Daria Dragonscale.

Grazie all'abilità di Malric Inferno, tutte le mie carte con attacco da mischia ottengono un punto di attacco in più.

Considerazioni finali

Considerazioni sulla Battaglia

Durante il primo round il mio avversario perde una carta mentre io perdo solo Furious Chicken annientato dall'attacco di Serpentine Spy. La battaglia termina all'inizio del Round 4.

Considerazioni su Serpent Of Flame
*** **Serpent Of Flame** è una carta che non avevo nel mio deck. Ho deciso di affittarla al costo totale di 0.005 $ solo per partecipare al contest settimanale di Splinterlands. Ci sono almeno dieci carte più utili da schierare in prima posizione. Serpent Of Flame può essere utile quando le regole di battaglia sono Up Close e Personal e Melee Mayhem che permettono a Serpent Of Flame di essere schierato in una posizione diversa dalla prima.
