Hi Hivers and Splinterlands players, over the last few days I have slowed down my activity of upgrading my Splinterlands card collection.
The reason for this change is mainly due to the current value of DEC tokens.
Today a DEC token is worth 0.00192 HIVE (Highest Bid on HiveEngine/LeoDex)
If we compare the value that 1 DEC had on 10 January 2021 with the value it has today, the loss in value relative to the value of HIVE is 71.89%. This percentage value should not be scary because HIVE has gained in value since 10 January 2021 and it is normal that 1 DEC is exchanged for a smaller amount of HIVE.
If we compare the dollar value of DEC tokens on 10 January 2021 with their current value, the loss in value is much smaller: 18.84%.
In theory and in an ideal situation when the value of DEC goes down it is more convenient to sell cards because you receive and can accumulate more DECs while when the value of DEC is high it is more convenient to use DECs to buy cards because you will spend less DECs.
This explains why I have slowed down my activity of optimising my card collection and have not made any further BID offers to buy cards. Instead, I have been putting more cards up for sale on the market, always selecting cards that I don't use in battle or use very little.
I'm also continuing to monitor the value of DEC because if the value continues to drop I may consider buying 100 packs of Untamed cards from the Splinterlands shop.
The cost of a pack of Untamed cards is 2000 DEC which based on current DEC token values equates to spending $1.36320.
Based on information from the Peakmonsters website (https://peakmonsters.com/packs), the estimated value of 1 pack of Untamed cards is $1.44 if you use both potions when opening a pack of cards: Alchemical and Legendary.
I have accumulated a lot of potions that I can only use when opening card packs. In fact, potions have no effect on opening chests received from completing daily or fortnightly quests but only take effect when opening Untamed or Dice card packs.
Untamed card packs can also be purchased on HiveEngine/LeoDex. At the time of writing this post buying a pack of cards from HiveEngine/LeoDex is cheaper and costs only $1.27757. The only disadvantage of buying card packs on HiveEngine/LeoDex is that you lose a chance to receive a card from the draw (airdrop) that happens every time 100000 Untamed packs are sold.
In the following table you will find all calculations for the purchase of 1 pack of Untamed cards according to the three different purchase methods: Credits, DEC, HiveEngine.
If this difference (estimated value - purchase cost) continues to increase I will definitely buy some packs of Untamed cards.

Ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte, DEC, Untamed Pac e Considerazioni
Ciao Hivers e giocatori di Splinterlands, negli ultimi giorni ho rallentato la mia attività di potenziamento della mia collezione di carte di Splinterlands.
Il motivo di questo cambiamento è dovuto principalmente al valore attuale dei token DEC.
Oggi un token DEC vale 0.00192 HIVE (Highest Bid su HiveEngine/LeoDex)
Se confrontiamo il valore che aveva 1 DEC il 10 gennaio 2021 con il valore che ha oggi la perdita di valore rapportata al valore di HIVE è del 71,89%. Questo valore percentuale però non deve spaventare perchè HIVE ha acquistato valore rispetto al 10 gennaio 2021 ed è normale che 1 DEC vanga scambiato con una quantità inferiore di HIVE.
Se confrontiamo il valore in dollari dei token DEC il 10 gennaio 2021 con il valore attuale la perdita di valore è molto inferiore: 18,84%.
In teoria e in una situazione ideale quando il valore dei DEC scende è più conveniente vendere le carte perchè si ricevono e si possono accumulare più DEC mentre quando il valore dei DEC è alto è più conveniente utilizzare i DEC per comprare le carte perchè si spenderà un quantitativo di DEC minore.
Ecco spiegato il motivo per cui ho rallentato la mia attività di ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte e non ho fatto ulteriori offerte BID di acquisto di carte. Ho invece messo in vendita sul mercato un maggior numero di carte selezionando sempre le carte che non utilizzo in battaglia o utilizzo molto poco.
Sto continuando a monitorare il valore dei DEC anche perchè se il valore continua a scendere potrei valutare di comprare 100 pacchi di carte Untamed dallo shop di Splinterlands. In questo post farò una serie di calcoli e valutazioni riguardo alla convenienza o meno dell'acquisto di un pacco di carte Untamed dallo Shop del gioco di Splinterlands.

In base alle informazioni del sito Peakmonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/packs) il valore stimato di 1 pacco di carte Untamed è di 1,44$ se si utilizzano, quando si apre un pacco di carte, entrambe le pozioni: Alchemiche e Leggendarie.
Io ho accumulato molte pozioni che potrei utilizzare solo aprendo dei pacchi di carte. Infatti le pozioni non hanno effetto sull'apertura dei forzieri ricevuti dal completamento delle missioni giornaliere o quindicinali ma hanno effetto solo quando si aprono i pacchi di carte Untamed o Dice.
I pacchi di carte Untamed possono essere acquistati anche su HiveEngine/LeoDex. Nel momento in cui scrivo questo post acquistare un pacco di carte da HiveEngine/LeoDex è più conveniente e costa solo 1,27757$ L'unico svantaggio dell'acquisto dei pacchi di carte su HiveEngine/LeoDex è che si perde una possibilità di ricevere una carta dall'estrazione (airdrop) che avviene ogni volta che vengono venduti 100000 pacchi Untamed.
Nella tabella seguente ci sono tutti i calcoli relativi all'acquisto di 1 pacco di carte Untamed in base alle tre diverse modalità di acquisto: Crediti, DEC, HiveEngine.
La differenza tra valore stimato di 1 pacco di carte Untamed e costo di acquisto è positiva se non si usano i crediti e se si dispone di un numero sufficiente di pozioni alchemiche e leggendarie.
Se questa differenza (valore stimato - costo di acquisto) continuerà ad aumentare comprerò sicuramente alcuni pacchi di carte Untamed.
