My End of Season Rental Strategy
In the game of Splinterlands, time is marked by seasons that have a duration of 15 days. The season currently in progress is almost at the end: in fact there are just over 22 hours to its conclusion.
This season is not a season like all the previous ones because it is the season that saw the start of the airdrop of SPS tokens (the Splinterlands governance tokens). The airdrop has brought a lot of publicity and interest to Splinterlands which is my favorite blockchain based game and as you can see from the following image the active players have increased so fast in just a few days.
On July 19th the active users were 9384
Yesterday July 29, 2021 the active users were 20694
In 10 days active users increased by 11310.
More active users also means more transactions, more requests for cards to play and above all more battles played.
Also the increase in the value of DEC tokens has helped to encourage players to play more and I for one have played more battles than in previous seasons.
As I have been doing for quite some time now, during the last days of Splinterlands seasons I like to share my goals and the strategy I chose to follow.
My end of season goal
I have always set a goal for previous Splinterlands seasons and this season my goal is to at least reach the Champion III league.
My starting point
The increase in the number of players has led to an increase in battles and has also led to a first pleasant difference from previous seasons:
It's easier to raise the rating score now than in the past!.
In previous seasons my starting point about two days from the end of the season was almost always the Gold I league. Yesterday, two days into the current season, I already had a rating score of 3204 points and was less than 200 points away from the Diamond I league.
My card collection had a Power score of 281600 points.
The only way to increase the power score without spending thousands of dollars is to rent cards from the market of Splinterlands and so, as I have done for several seasons now, I rented some cards and for the rental I preferred to use the Peakmonsters site (https://peakmonsters.com/) that provides players with many filters that facilitate and speed up the rental activity.
The increase of active players has produced a decrease in the number of cards to rent (at least those of the highest level) and above all has produced an increase in rental prices. This price increase, however, is more than compensated by the increase in the number of DEC tokens you get from each battle you win and especially by the increase in the value of DEC tokens.
The cards I've rented
Unlike previous seasons where I rented a number of cards that allowed me to exceed the Power score of 500000 points, this season I decided to proceed step by step and so I will increase the number of cards rented each time I exceed the requirement in a league rating score.
Yesterday I rented 8 cards:
- Lord Arianthus - Level 3
- Gloridax Guardian - Level 4
- War Chaang - Level 6
- Feral Spirit - Level 10
- Silvershield Knight - Level 10
- Angel of Light - Level 4
- Silvershield Paladin - Level 7
- Clay Golem - Level 7
For the rental I spent 316,841 DEC and increased my power score by about 90000 points.
Before renting I had a total of 52560 DEC tokens in my account.
After renting the cards I listed above I played several battles. After only 25 battles won I brought my DEC token count up to 54,314.
I have already abundantly recouped the expense incurred in renting the cards.
I currently have a rating score of 3449 points, so I've already met the first requirement to enter the Diamond I league.
To access the Diamond I league I still have to meet the second requirement for the power score and to do so I will return to the market and rent more cards.
Conclusion
Renting cards the last two days before the end of the Splinterlands season is a strategy I've been following for a long time, and I used to follow it even when 1000 DEC tokens were worth less than $1.
Now the value of 1000 DEC tokens is $4.52.
The cards also have much higher market prices than before. More active players produce many positive effects and above all produce an increase in the value of the cards because to play Splinterlands you need mainly the cards that allow you to win the battles (DEC tokens for each victory) and allow you to obtain a greater number of rewards (chests).

La Mia Strategia di Fine Stagione
Nel gioco di Splinterlands il tempo è scandito dalle stagioni che hanno una durata di 15 giorni. La stagione attualmente in corso è quasi giunta alla fine: infatti mancano poco più di 22 ore alla sua conclusione.
Questa stagione non è una stagione come tutte le precedenti perchè è la stagione che ha visto iniziare l'airdrop dei token SPS (i token governance di Splinterlands). L'airdrop ha portato molta pubblicità e molto interesse verso Splinterlands che è il mio gioco basato su blockchain preferito e come puoi vedere dall'immagine seguente i giocatori attivi sono aumentati in modo vertiginoso in pochi giorni.
Il 19 luglio gli utenti attivi erano 9384
Ieri 29 luglio 2021 gli utenti attivi erano 20694
In 10 giorni gli utenti attivi sono aumentati di 11310 unità.
Più utenti attivi vuol dire anche più transazioni, più richiesta di carte per giocare e soprattutto più battaglie giocate.
Anche l'aumento del valore dei token DEC ha contribuito ad incentivare i giocatori a giocare di più e io per primo ho giocato più battaglie rispetto alle stagioni precedenti.
Come faccio ormai da diverso tempo, durante gli ultimi giorni delle stagioni di Splinterlands mi piace condividere i miei obbiettivi e la strategia che ho scelto di seguire.
Il mio obbiettivo di fine stagione
Ho sempre fissato un obbiettivo per le stagioni di Splinterlands precedenti e in questa stagione il mio obbiettivo è quello di arrivare almeno nella lega Champion III.
Il mio punto di partenza
L'aumento del numero dei giocatori ha portato ad un aumento delle battaglie e ha portato anche ad una prima piacevole differenza rispetto alle stagioni precedenti:
E' più facile aumetare il punteggio di rating adesso rispetto al passato!
Nelle stagioni precedenti il mio punto di partenza a circa due giorni dalla fine della stagione era quasi sempre la lega Gold I. Ieri, a due giorni dalla conclusione della stagione in corso, avevo già un punteggio di rating di 3204 punti ed ero a meno di 200 punti dalla lega Diamond I.
La mia collezione di carte ha un punteggio Power di 281600 punti e per poter accedere alla lega Champion III sono necessari 500000 punti power.
L'unico modo per aumentare il punteggio power senza spendere migliaia di dollari è noleggiare le carte dal mercato di Splinterlands e così, come faccio ormai da diverse stagioni, ho noleggiato alcune carte e per il noleggio ho preferito utilizzare il sito di Peakmonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/) che mette a disposizione dei giocatori tanti filtri che facilitano e velocizzano l'attività di noleggio.
L'aumento dei giocatori attivi ha prodotto una diminuzione del numero delle carte da noleggiare (almeno quelle di massimo livello) e soprattutto ha prodotto un aumento dei prezzi di noleggio. Questo aumento dei prezzi però è più che compensato dall'aumento del numero dei token DEC che si ottengono da ogni battaglia vinta e soprattutto dall'aumento del valore dei token DEC.
Le carte che ho preso in noleggio
A differenza delle precedenti stagioni in cui noleggiavo un numero di carte che mi permetteva fin da subito di superare il punteggio Power di 500000 punti, in questa stagione ho deciso di procedere per gradi e quindi aumenterò il numero di carte noleggiate ogni volta che supererò il requisito in punteggio di rating di una lega.
Ieri ho noleggiato 8 carte:
- Lord Arianthus - Level 3
- Gloridax Guardian - Level 4
- War Chaang - Level 6
- Feral Spirit - Level 10
- Silvershield Knight - Level 10
- Angel of Light - Level 4
- Silvershield Paladin - Level 7

Per il noleggio ho speso 316.841 DEC e ho incrementato il mio punteggio power di circa 90000 punti.
Prima di effettuare il noleggio avevo un totale di 52560 token DEC sul mio account.
Dopo aver noleggiato le carte che ho elencato sopra ho giocato e ho svolto diverse battaglie. Dopo solo 25 battaglie vinte ho portato il numero dei miei token DEC a 54.314 unità.
Ho già abbondantemente recuperato la spesa sostenuta per il noleggio delle carte.
Al momento ho un punteggio di rating di 3449 punti e quindi ho già soddisfatto il primo requisito di accesso alla lega Diamond I.
Per accedere alla lega Diamond I devo ancora soddisfare il secondo requisito relativo al punteggio power e per farlo tornerò sul mercato e noleggerò altre carte.
Conclusione
Noleggiare le carte gli ultimi due giorni prima della fine della stagione di Splinterlands è una strategia che seguo da molto tempo e la seguivo anche quando 1000 token DEC valevano meno di 1$.
Adesso il valore di 1000 token DEC è di 4.52$.
Le carte inoltre hanno prezzi di mercato molto più alti rispetto al passato. Più giocatori attivi producono tanti effetti positivi e soprattutto producono un aumento del valore delle carte perchè per giocare a Splinterlands servono principalmente le carte che permettono di vincere le battaglie (token DEC per ogni vittoria) e permettono di ottenenre un numero maggiore di ricompense (forzieri).
