Undead Minotaur: Battle Strategy

Hi friends, the protagonist of today's post is the card **Undead Minotaur**.
***
Undead Minotaur is a card from the Reward collection and is a card of the death element.
It is a very valid card but only in some circumstances.
- Has a relatively low mana cost (6)
- Has an interesting ability: Double Strike

Thanks to this ability **Undead Minotaur** doubles its attack.
- It has a very low cost: **0.01$**
In fact, buying **Undead Minotaur** level 5 costs only **$ 0.25** while the level 6 card costs only **$ 0.52**.
For this reason I brought my Minotaur up to level 5.

- The **biggest weak point** is the life points: only 5 life points are very few for a card to be deployed in first position.

In the battle of this post I had the following conditions to respect:

As you well know, the maximum number of deployable cards is 7 (1 summoner + 6 monsters).
I chose to deploy (in order of position):

**Gelatinous Cube - Goblin Mech - Manticore - Undead Minotaur - Grumpy Dwarf - Twister Jersey**

First position

I put **Gelatinous Cube Level 6** in first position.
Level 6 Gelatinous Cube is a truly exceptional card.
It has two abilities:
- **Scavenger**:

Thanks to this ability Gelatinuous Cube increases its life by one unit each time a card (both opponent and friend) is eliminated.
***
- **Heal**
***
***
Thanks to this ability Gelatinuous Cube is able to restore a part of his life points at each round.
***
A really strong and difficult card to eliminate. Very useful when there are many mana available as in the battle of this post.

Second position

In second position I put **Goblin Mech (Level 5)**.
If Gelatinous Cube is eliminated, Goblin Mech with 8 life + 6 armor points allows me to defend the cards well in other positions.
In my battles it is a card that I use a lot in combination with the summoners: Malric Inferno and Daria Dragonscale.

Third position

In third position I put **Manticore (Level 2)**.
A very useful card. It has a low mana cost (4), a good attack (2) and 6 life points. A card that should not be missing in any collection.
The correct position is the second one but thanks to the Super Sneak battle rule I was able to deploy it in third position.

Fourth position

In fourth position I deployed **Undead Minotaur** (the protagonist of the contest).
Usually attacks only from the first position.Fortunately, the battle rule allows me to field Undeand Minotaur in fourth position.
Undeand Minotaur has only 7 life and has no armor points and the ideal position is right in the center. Thanks to the summoner Daria Dragonscale acquires an attack of 3 which in fact doubles thanks to the Double Strike ability!
Fifth position

In fifth position I deployed **Grumpy Dwarf Level 4**.
A good attack (2) and a low mana cost (4).

Sixth position

In the sixth and final position I deployed **Twister Jersey (level 3)**.
Of the available cards, it was the best. According to the battle rule it will be the most attacked card. He has a good ranged attack (3) and a low mana cost (4).

Summoner

The summoner I chose is **Daria Dragonscale Level 4**.
Thanks to his ability all my melee attack cards get one more attack point.

When the combat rule is **Super Sneak** I always choose a summoner between Daria Dragonscale and Malric Inferno.

Considerations
**Why did I win the battle?**
If you look at the statistics in the following table, the battle was very balanced at the start.

I won the battle because I deployed better cards than my opponent.
Two cards were decisive:
- **Gelatinous Cube (Level 6)**
Neutralize Goblin Mech's opponent completely.
To understand how strong it becomes when it reaches level six, just look at how the battle ends: it starts from 11 life points and ends with 18 life points.

- **Undead Minotaur (level 5)**
When the battle rule is **Super Sneak** it becomes a very strong card.
With Daria Dragonscale his attack becomes equal to the attack of Goblin Mech (6 vs 6).
Thanks to the 6 attack points of Undead Minotaur I was able to deploy Gelatinous Cube and keep the same starting attack points as my opponent.

When I use Undead Minotaur

I don't field Undead Minotaur **in first position**. Almost never!
Too fragile and if your opponent deploys a card with a strong attack and higher speed in first position, Undead Minotaur will most likely be eliminated in the first round without being able to complete a single attack.
Undead Minotaur becomes very useful in some circumstances.
Determinants are the "**Rules of combat**".

Combat Rules favorable to Undead Minotaur

Undead Minotaur has no armor points and few points (only 5 on level 1).
The two combat rules above allow you to deploy Undead Minotaur in a more protected position (for example in the center) and not necessarily in first position.

Since Undead Minotaur has no armor points, this combat rule allows Undead Minotaur to become a more attractive card.
